The management sucks here. They never do anything to really help you. All they care about is your rent check. They'll tow your car even if they know it's a resident's car. There is a bad roach problem. Like one of the earlier posts said. DON'T LIVE HERE IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH. I expected the community to be college atmosphere, but found Tejano blasting -------- loitering around all the time. They play soccer on the tennis court, and basically turn this place into Little Mexico. CRIME CRIME CRIME!!! Check the APD website for crime by apartment location. Villas at La Costa has pages and pages of auto theft and break-ins. My girlfriend's car was stolen here. There's no security. It's fenced with razor wire (for that prison atmosphere), because the crime has gotten so bad here. It doesn't matter since the gate is always broken and the doors are always propped open. They even had to lock the laundry rooms to keep burglars out. The laundry room is filthy and the machines barely work. Don't even waste your time coming to see the place, just stroll by some ghetto and you'll get the same feeling.

wow, I live here now and I have to disagree. It definately is not a luxury community but it is affordable! True the gates breaks often (mostly sat or sunday evening) but they are VERY quick to fix it (usually by monday morning) I speak english very well and so do my neighbors. Yes hispanic people do live here, so do all the other races. Everyone listens to different music apparantly Mr. Anonymous doesn't like the preference of others but that dosen't mean it's illegal. I'm sure some people don't like what I play either. As for roaches, I'm sorry if anyone has them but I don't. Anywhere you go unless it's brand new might have them. That is because sometimes when people move they bring uninvited guests with them. As far as management goes, they are GREAT so is the maintenance team! Security: There is NO SUCH THING AS SECURITY ON A PROPERTY! There are just courtesey partol officers. That means they are there for the property and for the residents but they CAN'T guaranty ANYONES safety that requires tooo musch liability and insurance companies will not cover it!! They have worked with me from the get to and fixed everything!! The apt is fine in my eyes: Great location, Great price, Great for now.

I have agree with the original poster. The first night I moved in, my downstairs neighbor was BLASTING his music because (come to find out later) he was a music recording artist. He was always BLASTING his music thru different times of the day and bringing his clients over. I sent and called in MANY complaints to the office and the police. He eventually got robbed big time. Come to find out, it was one of his clients that robbed him. Anyway, he was even given my work schedule (many times) and that still didn't prevent him. When the new manager took over, she FIANLLY got rid of him. I love the Spanish language, but we do live in AMERICA and ENGLISH is THE LANGUAGE. If I went to Spain, Mexico, or other hispanic country, they would EXPECT me to speak their language. My point is that not even some of their maintenance people speak English and if they do, it's hardly recognizable. Then, there is the issue with the morons who, yes, prop open the people gates/jump over the people gates/BLAST their music at the pool area, parking lot, where ever and whenever/bring their pets to the tennis & volleyball court-unsupervised/damage the property....no wonder why the rates are rising. True management can only do some much, but I still think there is room for improvement. It's like living in a fancy ghetto area. Sadly, I have friends that won't leave there car parked there for over an hour. I understand because my car was robbed in the morning hours in front of people going to work. How sad is that?.? People have jumped in and out of mine and my neighbors patios. No respect. If the crime was down and the ghetto-ness down, it would be a peaceful place you could really call home. Management will work with you to a certain degree, but it really flows from the head of the property. The good thing is that they do work hard on keeping the property looking good and the bus route is conviently located right in front. But as long as they keep on allowing bad people in, they will go down with them. Sometimes it is necessary to be selective.
