I thought I'd chime in as a current resident of the Villas of La Costa just to say I've lived here for a couple of years and have not had a single bad experience. Not one. I haven't had any maintenance emergencies, and when I have had non-emergency maintenance issues they've been resolved within 24 hours. That is excellent compared to where I used to live.

The folks at the leasing office are super nice. There is a DVD library there that is free for residents. Other amenities include a gym, a volleyball court, pool, hot tub, tennis courts, on-site barbecue grills, and on-site laundromats. That isn't a short list.

The layouts are spacious, especially when you factor in the price, which is hard to beat. The apartments are gated and I have never had anyone break into my car. Never had any trouble with crime, vandalism, etc. As far as residents go, there are a mix of young students, grad students, some older folks, and a pretty good sampling of people from all walks of life. Evryone has been friendly.

Students like the apartments because it's on the UT bus line and is a short drive from the campus. I own a car and have found the location makes pretty much all of Austin easily accessible, including downtown. There are bus stops right across from the leasing office and close to the entry gates to the complex. The maintenance crew has always been especially nice and helpful.

Some of the other reviews I've read don't even seem like they are discussing the same apartments I live in. I've never felt unsafe here - and did I mention the staff were super nice' They are! :)
