Not getting your money's worth.

The only thing wrong with this place really, besides the train- which CAN be heard from ALL buildings, is the staff. The day I was scheduled to move in, I showed up with a full 14-foot U-haul and went inside to get my key only to be greeted by a suprised office manager. "You're moving in TODAY' Uhh... Uh oh." We all know how stressful moving can be and I only had one morning/afternoon to do it. "Sorry, she said. It's not ready today." Translation: you're SOL and I don't care. Obviously this person isn't concerned so much with the contracts that she's having residents sign. So I pulled mine out to show her the dates and explained that its not my problem and that I expected the company to rectify it. So after she and her sidekick scrambled around for an hour, they moved me into an apartment that reeked of cigarettes, probably because the carpets were never cleaned, and a broken A/C (this was AUGUST). I had no other option but to move my things in. I was never compensated for this. Countless other problems have occurred in eight months. It took the company five months to fix my ice-maker which broke repeatedly, ruining all the groceries in my refridgerator. Of course, I was never compensated for this. Overnight, the company decided that a certain part of the parking lot would no longer be used for parking and towed all the cars that were parked there -giving us no advanced warning. So I had to shell out $150 for that. I like the layout of my apt. fine but if anything breaks I know I can't count on it being taken care of with any kind of urgency. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want to get your money's worth.
