Granted, sometimes people do let their dogs poop on the ground and fail to pick it up. I blame the pet owners, not the Villas. Afterall, they did install "doggie stations" on the property that have a trash bin and a baggie dispense, so even the lamest of the lazy pet owners have an incentive to pick up (and they don't even have to pay for it!) The train does run through the day, and they're honest about it. But if you're bothered by a train, don't move by the tracks! They have not gone to extraordinary measures to cover it up. You can see it when you go over Parmer, and there is a mere 8 foot fence at the back of the property much like you might find anywhere.

Oh, and as for bugs. Yes! There are bugs! But you know what' Where in Texas will you not find bugs' I can't think of a place myself. I have never seen a scorpion, though. All you have to do is call the office and they will send someone out to treat the apartment for you. You don't even have to be there, so how simple is that' I mean c'mon, let's get real here.
