As a current resident, I felt compelled to give my opinion regarding Stone Oak Ranch. The truth is that while there are some things that people might take issue with (the train noise for example), There is much written on this site which is not factual.
Most importantly, the comments regarding the Manager and staff. The management for this property changed recently (in my opinion for the better). Regarding a previous review that stated," The office staff does not seem overly concerned with helping residents". That is just NOT TRUE. The staff (especially the manager) truly cares about all the residents from what I've seen. Anyone who has rented before knows how rare this kind of treatment is (typically they only care on the day the rent is due).
For example, the new manager asked for a meeting of all the residents to ask what needed improvement regarding the quality of life at Stone Oak Ranch. Within a week, the manager had instituted many of the resident suggestions including increasing trash recepticles (previously there was one dumpster for the whole complex!) and increasing the response time for matinence requests (I had a dryer that was out for 7 days while the previous management was here). Now, every request I've made has typically been handled the same day.
As I stated previously, I am a current resident here and as with any property there can be issues. My honest opinion is that this property was poorly managed by the previous owner/management team. Thus, people became used to being treated poorly (I was one of them).
Frankly the new manager (and her team) are the only reason I am still here. They came in to a difficult situation and actually tried to make this property a better place to live. There has already been a marked improvement in a very short time in my point of view.
