Poor Security & Waste Disposal

I have been a resident for almost two years. Throughout that time trash disposal and removal have been a serious issue. I strongly suggest if/when you take a tour to ask to see the dumpsters and trash compactor on site; they speak for themselves. There are inadequate number of dumpsters and/or inadequate number of pick-ups during the week. This results in trash piled up around the dumpsters and for a very nauseating smell. Also, the trash attracts bugs and other unsightly growth.
The second complaint is security. Over the past year there have been a series of car break-ins and apartment break-ins. The mangement will most likely deny these claims (see posted response to this review for an idea on how the management deals with their residents). You can go to the local police website and search for the Villas address and you can see for yourself the number of police reports filed for that address. The gates rarely work and there are no cameras on site or security systems in the units. In addition, after my apartment was broken into (door kicked down) the door was never properly fixed; a series of screws were put into the frame and it was declared safe. I would strongly suggest taking your money elsewhere, to a complex which offers secuirty systems in the units, cameras at entrances, security patrols, and working gates.

Security is not provided by apartment management, and never, ever will be. That is your risk and your responsibility. Car theft and crime exists everywhere, and for legal reasons management is NOT able to comment to the frequencies of these events. You must do that on your own -- like an adult.

Somebody got a little defensive. I am going to have to side with the resident. It does not appear he/she was making it the management's resposibilty. He/she was simply suggesting that if secuirty is a priority future residents may want to consider a different complex which offers those amenities.

Service is horrible. Hate the new management team! Can't even enter the office, was told for security reasons, I mean who wants to look at anybody elses's stuff that's on their desk? Just want to get some service is all. And their response was for security reasons??? What about our security????? Gates are either broken or always open!

When I lived there, I was near the front and that gate was either broken or open 75% of the time. I lived in a cheap apartment in another state with better security than that!! And, there is no security guard, which floored me, being that the apartment was supposed to be 'upscale'. They got enough rent to be able to provide a 24x7 security guard. I would think my home would be safer than my work!

Gates on apartments are not meant for security...crime happens everywhere...you don't think someone could just wait and follow someone in? Or jump the gate? The gates are to help the flow of traffic and discourage crime but not to keep you safe. That goes for all apartment communities, not just this one...
