This is a well designed, lovely property that was exceptional until its purchase by MBS a little over a year ago. Before MBS we had excellent professional staffing, repairs were handled quickly, we had a monthly newsletter, parties, contests and excellent property upkeep.

Since then all the original professional staff left and the turnover has been so frequent that you never know who you might be talking to. MBS is a crummy cheap company, they have no money for repairs (and we've heard sometimes no money for paychecks) their staff have to lie all the time to cover for why all the routine things are not done, and all the usual amenities have disappeared or now have fees for them. Like the big screen theatre that used to be available by reservation is now $75 with a $500 deposit, oh except during the day--when most of us work. And with the exception of the gym everything is locked by 6pm because of vandalism & theft-- Which also speaks to the lack of a proper tenant screening process. And that probably explains why we now haves trash strewn about, dog poop not cleaned up, people parking in firelanes, other tenants' garage driveways and handicap spaces. There seems to be a complete lack of respect for this being one's home and a lack of respect for others. It wasn't this way before the MBS purchase.

The pool has become a free-for-all, way too many visitors, pets in the pool area, inconsiderate & vulgar language and people in the pool long after the 10pm closing hours. There are no after hours services, so if your plumbing, a/c or heat go out you are out of luck. And if the maintenance staff can't scavenge parts from a vacant apartment there's no telling when you might get repairs. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless a reputable company bought it and restored it to its previous status. I do have to say good words about the maintenance staff, they do the best they can under very frustrating circumstances. We really like the property but are distressed by the downward spiral and can only attribute it to the company. And I should mention that this company MBS bought the AMLI property next door and it looks like its even in worse shape than ours. Recently they had a mountain of garbage for weeks because their dumpster was allegedly "broken"--I suspect it was just another bill they couldn't pay.
