LOUD, Unsafe (Frequent Thefts), Terrible Management

While I live there there was: a string of break-ins and thefts in the parking garage that ended up being covered in several stories in the Daily Texan; CONSTANT solicitors (about three a week); and extremely rude management who only wanted to talk to Daddy's credit card, not you. Some of the people working there held a big party on the parking garage, made us all move our cars off the top floor, and then tried to charge us if we wanted in. They opened all the gates and let random drunk people from all over the state wander through the complex. I felt extremely unsafe.

I could overlook everything if it weren't for the noise problem. The entire place was built with VERY cheap materials, and the walls are SO thin you can hear EVERYTHING. I don't mean normal "college apartments sure are loud" noise, I mean I could hear the people upstairs walk to the bathroom, hear their toilet flush, hear them walk to the living room, hear them turn on the TV and start playing a video game. It was TOTALLY unlivable. I couldn't study, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't stand to be in the apartment. I ended up staying at my boyfriend's almost every single night, just to be able to get a good night's sleep and get some studying done. I don't know how anyone manages to live there AND go to school.

All that is true. The articles in the Daily Texan are completely TRUE. The gate was broken for a long time, and it was just open all day and night (24/7) because of the Villas' laziness to fix it. The Villas even lied and said that they secured it after the Daily Texan's findings (even though the gate is right next to the office). LOL...The Daily Texan proved them wrong because they wrote another article where they found that the gate was still open. Even though people's cars were broken into because of the apartment's negligence, the Villas said they weren't liable. More fun facts: The "demo apartment" is bigger than what your real apartment will be. The security guard is non existent. The one time that I saw him, he was in the office on the internet. Oh gosh, the staff...Why do they have dumb college kids running the place? I don't know. Most are rude, but some are not. Everytime I ask a question, the response is: "I have to ask Heather, she's not here," "I don't know," or "Can you come back tomorrow." The Villas also always adds late charges onto my account even though I turn it in my check on time. I always have to call them every single month about it. How hard is it to read a name and an apartment number on a check. Mysteries that I will never know. Document everything. Also, I found out I have to be mean to make them do their job. If you are passive about stuff, then they'll never do it. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. DO NOT LIVE HERE. PRESENTATION AND OUTSIDE APPEARANCES ARE DECEIVING.

You???re right about them being so greedy. It's ridiculous that they would never shell out any money to fix appliances, but then they give the whole outside wall a new paint job. They can't spend the money to repair the gates, but then they hire a bunch of immigrant workers to power wash the garage and make the outside look pretty. Despicable.
