My friend lived here for a couple of years and in that time the entry gates never worked, so they were always open. The last few months he lived there, the place got shadier and shadier. I left my car there one night b/c I rode home with my boyfriend. I was on my way to pick it up the next afternoon, when my friend called to tell me my car was not in the same spot I had left it. My friend did not have a key or any access to my vehicle. I called the cops (who are stationed across the street) from my cell phone. I got there within 5-10 minutes and the cops were not there yet. The 14 year old who had stolen my car was there, however. Still in the car - hiding.

When the cops arrived, we walked over to the kid's apartment. His face and hand tattooed mom came out. She told the cops she had no ID card. They finally got her to produce a TDCJ ID card. She had been paroled only two weeks prior. SCARY!!

The kid did wreck the front right side of my car. I didn't press charges though. My friend was scared of retaliation from the parent(s).
