I transferred to a one bedroom apartment and was charged an outragous fee for cleanup in the old apartment. I steam cleaned to carpet and my family and I cleaned the apartment and left it in better shape than when we moved in. When I tried to confront the management about the problem I was simply threatened with being sent to collections. If this is how they treat current customers I will not be renewing my lease here again.

wow. That is exactly what they did to me!!! I caved in and eventually paid because I received a collections notice and was buying a house so I couldn't afford a ding on my credit.

How much was the cleanup charge? Did you have any pets? Did you ask them for a walk-through inspections BEFORE you turned in your keys? I am curious, as I'm in their smallest 2-1 myself.

I was also charged over 1000 dollars of clean up charges even after my apartment was repeatedly flooded from the apartment upstairs and the management promised me in writing not to charge me for related damages. I had steam cleaned and paid for a professional cleaning crew.
