I know a person who used to work in Westdale's leasing office. One day, her parents called the office and asked for her (ABC). The person who answered the phone said, ABC doesn't work here. It was then that she learned her colleagues would tell people calling for her that she doesn't work there. Why you ask' Because they get paid a commission for leasing apartments and if the person who answers the phone (XYZ) tells a potential leaser ABC doesn't work there, the potential leaser must do his/her business with XYZ who then gets the commission (even though ABC set up the deal). Are you surprised that the condition of Westdale's apartments is the way that it is' I'm not. If you've got little rodents like this working for you, you're probably not going to get much, if anything, right.

Management Response: In regards to this posting, I do not understand if this is a resident or a past disgruntled employee. If an employees parent calls for the employee we do not tell them they do not work here any more. We do not make a commission off parental phone calls. It is aparent to me that this person has no real issue and if so needs to contact the office and speak with managment. I encourage you to contact the office at 512-345-4444.

You think this person's parents called and said "I'm ABC's parents" as opposed to "is ABC there"? You clearly do make a commission though, as you don't deny it, and I therefore find it unlikely that it is a resident since the person knows that. Of course the person is disgruntled, given the way she was treated.

Of course the parents did not identify themselves as parents when they called. We all know management is stupid, but not stupid enough to tell parents their kid doesn't work at Westdale anymore when he/she clearly does. The point of this post is to let all past, current, potential tenants know that people who work in the leasing office will do whatever it takes to make the commission (including telling prospective tenants who call the office that the leasing agent they previously dealt with no longer works here when they in fact do). And why would you want to know this? Because it tells you what kind of people work at Westdale. Response to management: If it's apparent to you from the original post that there is no real issue, then you really are more stupid than I thought.

I must point out that not ALL Westdale properties are the same. Each and every complex staff is diffrent most have an excellent staff on hand from the time you move in to the time you move out. I must say this though, the person who gets the commission is the person that actaully SHOWS the apartment. So phone calls and even walk-ins do not get you a commission. Hopefully this eases you a little.
