This place is as bad as it sounds.

I wasnt going to say anything but then I read the post before me and I gotta say, Its highly suspicious or 3 months is not enough for a full assessment of this place. I lived here two years, moved out not that long ago. Its one thing when the facilities are outdated, but another when the staff are incompetent and treat you with disrespect. Management can be easily fixed, they have no excuse for behaving in the way that they do.

Facilities: Plumbing is horrible. I lived on the second floor and had to wait till none of the neighboring units weren't using their water before I can shower. Even then, I would get scolded quite regularly. They said they fixed it with their recent descaling, but that did nothing. I still got scolded. Plus, I have never heard of any other apartment that reserved the right to shut down their water tues and/or thur from 10-2pm for maintenance. On top of that, they did shut it off atleast 2 times a month.
These apartments are old, they lack a lot of needed sound insulation. I can hear people clearly when they stand 20 yds. the wooden post on my balcony thats suppose to support the roof, was just dangling from the roof, it wasnt bolted to the ground.

Management: Management is worse because they do not have excuses for being so rude or lazy or abusive. The recent "tenant" that praised this apartment and complained how her old apartment wouldn't pay someone on the weekend to fix her plumbing...that was the same scenario that happened to me at Westdale Parke. My a/c went out in August. One of the staff even said that a broken A/C is an emergency because your place is inhabitable if that is to happen during the summer. It went out on a Saturday. And it was fixed briefly before i broke again that same day. When I went down to see them try to fix it again, I kid you not, I saw them poke at the switch with a twig, thats all he had on him. I think he was getting electrocuted causing him to resort to a stick to mess with the switch. Anyways, they couldn't fix, so what does the employee of the apartment say', "Maybe you should just crack open a window..." By the way, my apartment reached 97 degrees when It was 103 outside. They said it would be fixed sunday...it wasnt. That was when I got in an argument with him, he wouldn't offer any kind of compromise what so ever. Claimed I verbally assaulted him because I questioned his intelligence for suggesting I crack open a window in august. Eventually offered to let me live in their model apartments but if i decided to, had to stay in there until they opened the next day and couldnt leave. But homeless people have been known to squat in the model apartments for a while before they were locked so, no to that.
Then when I moved out, they took the last two months' utilities from my security deposit plus they sent me a bill for it through the mail. Not aware that they took the last two month's utilities off the security deposit, i paid them for one of the month's utilities. So they owed me the difference, which they agreed to pay at first. But when it came time to pay the difference, the lady at the place said they didint owe me any money. Would just talk over me and tell me i didnt know what I was talking about. So I went over there and looked at the charges, and sure enough they came up with a bogus charge that equaled the amount that was owed to me. They listed the charge as "final water" which made no sense because they listed all the monthly water charges. When asked if she can explain to me that charge, she kept saying she didn't know and kept saying that corporate makes all the charges so when asked if she can give me the contact info of corporate and she said she didn't know. which is a total lie because how can you work for someone and not know how to get a hold of them. She basically refused to give me any contact info claiming she didn't know. However that kind of information is public information and lawfully they are suppose to give it to you if you ask. Well, I just googled it and called their corporate office. They gave me the contact info of the regional owner. Who got the manager of Westdale parke to call me. Finally, someone from westdale parke listened to me and eventually they gave me the difference because they couldn't find a reason why they made that bogus charge.

It shouldn't be this hard to deal with your apartment. They are extremely lazy, shady, and just unfit to run an apartment.

these are just the most recent problems I ran into. I had problems in the past when I lived here and had to fix the problems myself.
