Crawl before you get up running! The Management Team is picking up the pieces Dalcor left behind. Management has taken a big step in getting The Pointe at Wood Hollow up to what it should be. They are planning for the Pointe to be a Community and no longer what Dalcor called, the prehistoric phrase "a complex"! The Pointe Maintenance Team is upgrading every apartment with new appliances, carpet, two-toned paint, plumbing and light fixtures! I agree, Dalcor left this property in "BAD" shape but stick around and believe it when I tell you change is an opportunity for growth!

Wow. Westdale is so BOLD. Loren, I still have a voicemail from you on my cell phone where you informed me (while I was still a resident) that you and Karen Temborius were refusing to speak with me about the fact that you were a)claiming the right to a 60 day move out notice in spite of the 30 days specified in the lease, b)claiming the right to change the terms of the lease without notice and without my written consent, and c) threatening to go to collections if an extra months rent was not paid after the 30 days notice that was given. Even when confronted with the statute that explained how what you were claiming was illegal, and a letter outlining violations of the Deceptive Trade and Practices Act through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you and Karen persisted in your assertions. Karen even hung up on me over the phone. Attorney representation did not sway you either. I finally had to call upper management at Westdale, who apparently have some sort of brain. They forced Karen to approve the move out date, and Karen proceeded to lie to them and claim a misunderstanding. Someone who took several real-estate law classes to get certified misunderstood terms in a lease that are clear enough for ANYONE to understand? It is obvious that the management at Pointe is willing to do anything to try and squeeze money out of residents. (case in point, while refusing to speak with me and recognize me as a resident, they were cashing my rent checks and attempting to force me to live there an extra month) Residents: They CANNOT start charging for things that you did not agree to pay for in the lease. Westdale is bound by the terms in the leases signed by residents before Westdale purchased the Pointe, until and unless that resident SIGNS a new lease with Westdale or goes to a month to month lease and Westdale provides new terms at least 30 (or 60 depending on the lease) days before the signed lease terminates. Do not let them intimidate you into believing otherwise. It is highly illegal, they know it, do not let them continue to get away with it!
Repairs may take a while and necessitate "crawling" but attitude and respect towards residents can be immediate. The only growth management is currently worried about is their, and Westdale's wallets.

Amen. They have pulled that 60 day crap with so many people. You can have a lease that says 30 days, which is standard, but they will still send you a flyer saying "you must give 60". And some of the office staff is quite arrogant and thinks they have a right to your money; I really wonder if they get bonuses based on how much they can get out of the residents that they shouldn't be getting. I hope they face a class action lawsuit.
