I've lived here over a year now and i haven't had too bad of an experience. The maintenance always comes in a timely manner and they treat air as emergency calls and come within 2 hours. It's such a good deal for such a nice area, so i'm willing to put up with the older building for such a great location. I drive 10 minutes to get to work down on 38th st! There have been a few things that kinda stink, like I am definatly going to have a washer and dryer in my next apartment, and there are no connections here. A while ago my building had a horrible roach problem. I think the tree roaches were getting in. There was no infestation but every now and then a few huge buggers would get in. They came and treated my apartment the next day after i asked them too, and then they ended up treating the whole building inside and out and now i haven't seen a bug in months. Not a single one and i am not a very clean person, haha. Anyway, they will charge you for every single little thing, but the rent is still low for the area. The one thing that really pissed me off since i started living here was i particularly asked when i was signing my lease if i would be charged for pest control, they said no, i asked them to put that on my lease then, and they gave me some legal mumbo jumbo about how they can't charge and thats why it isn't on the lease. well a few months later i get a notice that pest control will be tacked onto the water bill. It's only $2 a month but it was really the principle of the thing, i don't like being treated like an idiot. The area is really safe, there are alot of cops that do regular patrols through most of the apartments around there. I think my neighbor had some problems but i think that might have been a personal thing, like domestic partner problems or something. Overall i've enjoyed living here, i like coming home, and the grounds are nice too.
