It really is that awful...

First of all, I'm not really a very picky person. As long as I can live in relative peace and not be bothered, I'm willing to live in questionable places with minor annoyances for a low amount of rent. I chose to live on an upper floor to discourage apt break ins and put a car alarm on my car to discourage car break ins. My tolerance level is pretty high, but I have had it with this place.
The quality of the residents has gone down significantly over the past several months. Grown men sit out on their balconies (at times when people normally work, mind you) and watch people. I have the suspicion that they are trying to figure out when people come and go in order to determine a good time to break into an apartment.
Nobody seems to care about anyone else. Music is played loud at all hours of the night. Trash is left out on the walkways. Children run amok.
And management is composed of idiots. The gate situation is a good example. You now have to swipe a card to get in. Well, there is only room for three cars in front of the gate. And if the first person cannot swipe themselves in, there is no room to back up so they just have to sit there while the line of cars backs up onto Cameron Rd. If you are a resident who has a card and you're somewhere in the back of the line and you happen to want to go home, you have to get out of your car, walk up to the gate and swipe your card (which can be extremely inconvenient in the rain). And the idiot at the gate that is holding up the line is the first one inside. What is the purpose of this, you ask, if the undesirable people get inside the gates anyway' I have no idea, but it's the kind of not-well-thought-out crap that you have to put up with from this management team.

Everything you said is right on.
I agree that the quality of the residents is pretty bad. When they park in the tow away zone and block in your truck, it's a scary prospect to ask them to move.
A lot of the people who live here are pretty dirty. Trash is left out and there is a bad bug problem.
The gate was a huge issue for me too. It would get broken at nights but when I got back from work I had to get out to my car to swipe the card. It's pretty hilarious in hindsight.
Kids are running everywhere, there is loud music at all times of the night.
I've never seen security.
Of course the management there are stupid, they write their own glowing reviews.

duh,duh,duh...Come live in the 'hood. Y'all will love the people you meet. Hey, you meet them in your bedroom at 4am after they've broken into your joint, but what the hey, you didn't need that jewellry or that cash, now did ya?
Those crack dealers, they have kids to feed ya know, probably bout 20 of them judging by how many are stufft into the apartments here.
Don't speak da espanol. Learn buddy. You'll need to learn how to direct the johns and crack hos to the right apartment when they bang on your door at 4 in da am.
I believe in giving those sex offenders another chance, thats why I don't mind being a few yards away from da halfway house.

I heard that the apartments were built on top of waste dump. So it wouldn't surprise me if there was a bug problem.
