I agree that Cameron Road is not the safest or nicest of areas.
In addition I know of several people who have had problems with roaches etc. who
weren't dirty people. The gates are often broken and the parking is poor. I have even personally known those who have gotten their cars broken in to.
Now, with all that being said...

Wildwood was my first apartment when I moved out on my own.
The rent was cheap and it could have been worse.
There were two dumpters for the entire complex and the office staff was constantly
changing. Not only did we not know the office staff because it seemed as if
there were new people in the office everyday, but it was also very unorganized (which seems to be the case for a lot of complexes)

However, within the past year, the new owners of Wildwood have made positive changes by attempting to beautify the complex. The dumpster area no longer looks utterly disgusting because there are several dumpsters around the complex, and the staff has lasted longer than others. They are also pretty friendly.

The problem with Wildwood is that it isn't in an attractive location.
On the bright side, it isn't unbearable either...unless you're used to living
in an upscale neighborhood or enjoy walks down the street by yourself at night. Another plus is that it's close to all the major highways like 183, I-H 35, Mopac, and 290. Additonally, Wildwood seems to be one of the only places that you can get a large apartment for a resonable price. The one bedrooms are likely to be more expensive now, but for the square footage, they're still a lot lower than the average market price around austin. So bottom line, it certainly isn't luxury living but the new owners seem to be trying to make it a more pleasant place to live.

Management reviews 101 - Start off with the bad stuff and then follow up with all the good points. These people are desperate. They are desperate to rent to decent people like you. Don't let them fool you. This place is a dump. It's a roach filled hole. Any savings on rent will be eaten up by the cost of utilities. I love how they included info on the square footage - that makes it so not sound like a management review. I'm surprised this anonymous reviewer didn't offer to give us a tour. The office staff are nice...But they get to home at night. You can bet the management don't live at Wildwood.

Before you rent, drive thru at night.
