Second time living at WRC for a reason

From: WRC-Resident
Date posted: 1/30/2003
Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2003

I lived at WRC for over one year, moved out for a year and have been back for over 6 months. Since the first day I moved in over two and a half years ago I have had numerous friends living at WRC, keep up to date with on goings and have a very good (and True) review for potential residents.

-Do not put too much weight on a review posted by one or two individuals who claim this is the worst complex in the world. More people take the time to complain then give praise. If WRC were so horrible why would they live here for multiple years or move-in in the first place' If everyone were happy with where they lived there would be no vacancies in Austin. Moving is a part of apartment living, things change.
-Computer or not, if someone is unhappy they will voice their opinion one way or another which will always be heard by the staff and addressed in the best way possible. I have never seen nor heard of an incident that was not given a fair option for resolution. Check out other apt. complex reviews, see how many are Great Reviews which are legitimate and not posted by staff.
-The maintenance at most apartment complexes have something to be desired. WRC had some issue in the past with incompetent and lazy maintenance staff but the current maintenance team has made dramatic improvements since last November and do the best with the resources they are allotted. Most maintenance request are handled within the first or second day unless an unforeseen problem that demands immediate attention would delay a minor request. I have seen the current staff out as late as one or two in the morning working on request?s, they do what they can.
-Patio regulations regarding furniture and cooking appliances are mostly standard and any other rules are for the good of the complex.
-WRC has had the same management staff for the last 9 months and previous inconsistencies were out of the control of those presently working and are standard within the industry
-Although I am sure everyone who posted on this web site are the ?Best? at their jobs and never receive any negative feedback or complaints the staff at WRC are good people and do their best to make this a comfortable place to live. Coming down on the office staff for things out of their control like old apartments having problems or maintenance inefficiencies is not fair.
-New residents are always moving in and any reduction in occupancy or rates is industry wide; you might have noticed a direct correlation between a couple of recent financial indicators like the Stock Market, US Economy or an upcoming war.
- Did someone really take the time to complain about a Beta fish and dirty water' Maybe the staff is busy helping whining residents instead of cleaning fish water. If dirty fish water is really that big of a deal call PETA.
-WRC has always had an application and approval process to control the ?quality? of renters. Life is full of diversity; if you want to live with big wigs, move to Beverly Hills. For the rent and location you cant beat WRC.

-Work out facility is something to be desired.
-Some buildings could use renovations.
-Hot tub is in bad location and seldom works.
-WRC staff is down to earth and eager to help, if you let them.
-Friendly residents, a tennis court and an active pool make living at WRC well worth the few complaining neighbors.

Pardon the length but I wanted to address a few of the comments from some previous posts.

Recommendation: Great location and definitely worth the savings.
