Overall, a nice spot to hang your hat

This small complex was a nice contrast to the student-heavy housing along Far West and Woodhollow Dr. I occasionally wondered if our neighbors were out of town constatly, it was so quiet. The main noise came from UT shuttles that served the area, and some road work at one point. I sometimes blasted my music, but the construction is sturdy, so I'm pretty sure I never bothered anyone. There was usually plenty of parking close by. The office people were friendly and professional. The even waived a late fee one month when my employer made a mistake and issued a pay check late, making my rent late.

The closets were spacious and offered ample storage. We had plenty of space. The pool was rarely used, so that was great for some private swimming. The grills in the pool area were also always available -- great for making steaks or barbecuing for a few people.

The main drawback was living with my girlfriend in a loft apartment, where it was far too easy to wake the other up if watching TV or typing too loudly while on the computer. This floorplan is definitely for ONE PERSON only. The utilities also got a bit expensive in the summer, especially with the ceilings as high as they were with the loft layout, and the circa 1979 construction (less energy efficient windows etc).

The other drawback was the rent. It was a bit expensive for not even having a private bedroom -- $750/mo. Not a good place to be during the early rumblings of the dot-bomb.

Overall, this is a safe, clean area, with convenient access to Mopac, 183, 2222, and 360. I really enjoyed the apartment itself, and would recommend it to a single person looking for a lot of space and convenience, or someone who wants to live in a quieter apartment community in the Far West area.
