Nice place on a budget From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/18/2002 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002   This apartment complex is in a nice, safe area. The only problems safety-wise are the car break-ins (for those who like to leave valuables in their vehicle). The staff is very friendly and punctual. The manager is rarely seen, but the asst manager is very nice and will say hello to you whenever you pass by. Also, maintenance responds the same day. Requests can be made in-person or by e-mail. I have had some problems with bugs - roaches, that is. Pest control comes twice a year, but I have to request a mondo spraying once and additional pest service other times. The management gets right on pest service requests, though pest service is only available Tuesdays. I've had some ants in my pantry, as well. They came and put down ant baits the same day and that quickly resolved the problem. The trees make this complex very nice. My car can always be shaded, as is my apartment. This keeps my apartment very cool during Austin's hot summers. The building exterior paint isn't very appealing -- it's light blue and weathered. If you can get past this, the buildings are in pretty good shape for the complex's age. The appliances inside function fine, but aren't brand-new. I haven't had any problems with them. The bathroom's over-sized oval tub is a dream and an envy by visitors. The bedroom is a nice size and has two BIG closets. The porch is HUGE and has a nice sized storage unit attached. The upstairs neighbors' footsteps can be heard often from my apartment. Otherwise, I have had only one noise complaint. When I reported the noisy music, the management immediately put that to rest. I haven't heard a peep of anything since. Both pools are very well taken care of. This complex is cheap, the area very nice, and the staff friendly. For a UT student, shuttle access is just across the street and convenient. I would highly recommend this apartment for the budget conscious who don't like complexes that are solid pavement everywhere.
