I posted a positive review a few months after moved in here in August of 06. My experience continued to be mostly pleasant (except for a loud neighbor issue) until the property was sold. I would have to agree with the negative comments about the new management. Every single one is absolutely true! Things have begun, and continue to get worse. The sloppy paint job is fact. There is now a light coat of splattered paint covering my balcony sliding door. The doors to the balcony storage still have not been painted and there are large paint splotches on the edges of the doors from where they painted the trim so it looks horrible and sloppy. Also, one of my balcony rails is only secured by the bottom! The rails should be bolted along the bottom, and then on each side of the rail on the top... but since they came to paint, there is now one bolt missing, and the other is literally falling out. I'm waiting for that rail to fall over. They have been back out on the balcony numerous times to paint, and sometimes they crawl over that rail. One of the guys almost fell because of it, but it has not been fixed. Not to mention... my ac has been leaking for over a week now. I've been using my bathroom trash to catch the water, and i'm emptying it at least once a day. I reported first that the a/c had gone out. That was fixed 24 hours later. (IT WAS HOT!!!!) I was willing to accept that, but then, the next day, it started leaking. I called in the maintenance request (by the way, you now have to report maintenance requests to a 1-866 number, and they report the request to maintenance...) the same day the leak started, I think it was a Wednesday, and by Saturday, they had not come to fix it. Called the number again, and told them it was an emergency because there was water leaking everywhere in the bathroom and they needed to get there THAT DAY, and the maintenance man showed up within an hour. He's nice, sure, but he did say he'd be back to check the leak Sunday morning, and that what he thought needed to be done would most likely be done on Tuesday. It is now Thursday, and there is still water leaking from the a/c into the bathroom... No communication from maintenance, nothing. He never showed up Sunday to check on anything. They just haven't come. I'm starting to see a roach here and there. That's fine, no biggie, I can get them to remedy that... the point is that I have NEVER EVER seen not ONE BUG in my apartment until now... I never had to ask for pest control because they stayed on top of it. Also, my upstairs neighbors are rediculous. They lived upstairs before I moved in, and on the very first day, I noticed the noise. The stomping, banging, screaming kids who run around as if they're outside have NOT EVER STOPPED. I have complained NUMEROUS times to management and they tell me they will send them a notice, and they seem to understand the problem (they knew what the problem was when I made the first complaint, as if it has been an ongoing problem.) but the noise has never ceased. In fact, it get's worse and worse with time. I can't wait to not live under these people anymore... I love this apartment, and I hate to move, but I am going to have to as there are too many things I've had to put up with that are totally unacceptable. I know it could be worse, but it could be better. It has been better. I will not lower my standards just because the new owners' standards are lower. It's sad though. This is one of the very few apartment complexes in this area that was still very decent. I guess i'm gonna have to move up North and spend a little more money, but i'm sure it'll be worth it. I'm hoping the management reads all these reviews and comes to realize they are pushing out their long-time tenants. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

I agree with this 100%. The things that made Woodmeade the best complex on the East side of South Austin are gone. Rent has gone up 4 times in 3 months, the grounds and maintenance are no longer outstanding, in fact, they are no longer even acceptable.
The low bid contractors that the Lynd Company has hired to do "upgrades" are not only unskilled, but bordering criminally negligent, leaving doors unlocked after accessing apartments, and even wide open in some cases. (sometimes you will get a notice the night before they enter to work, sometimes you just have a work crew in your living room when you get up in the morning. Surprise!)
If you enjoy paying more for less, dealing with constant frustrations and being chastised by a large, uncaring corporation for requesting a basic, functional living environment, go Woodmeade. If you want to enjoy where you live, please look elsewhere.
