I lived here for a year and moved only because I needed to relocate to North Austin. I had minimal trouble at first with noise because the upstairs neighbor seemed to have lead feet, but it didn't take me long to tune that out. Although the fireplace was originally wood-burning, it had been plugged. A couple of orange light bulbs and rotating tinsel were placed inside a fake wood piece. But it was a convincing enough simulation of a real fire. All that aside, this is truly a good deal. Rental rates in Austin have risen everywhere and Southeast is no exception, but you will still get your money's worth. My apartment was a 1 bedroom with over 900 sq feet, washer/dryer connections, recessed lighting, and a balcony that ran the entire length for $660/mo. Match that with a wonderful staff, quiet neighborhood, and tree-filled scenery--you can't beat that anywhere else!
