I'm definitely doling out the same recommendation: STAY FAR AWAY FROM WOODMEADE. Besides the damages and cost that the work crews have so carelessly piled on top of the current residents, including leaving a huge paint splotch on comforter on my bed (no idea why they were near my bed in the first place) and turning our thermostat down 25 degrees!!, they are not even making the apartments any better. They've only changed the look; otherwise, these are still the same dingy, leaking apartments they were before. You can still hear your neighbor sneeze, there are still cracks in the walls (I guess from foundation settling), there is still a 30 year old dishwasher in our kitchen (that we dont' use), the balcony hand rail still looks like it's going to fall off, and cars still get broken into on a decently regular basis. These are all things most residents like myself didn't seem to mind too much b/c this place had so much character, it was fairly priced, and the management was pretty cool (before LYND). But now they are just extra nuisances and there is NOTHING good about this complex. It's like a sleezy car dealership is turning our complex into a LEMON!
Maintenance is veeeerrrry slooooow. We've had a hole in our ceiling for over 6 months now - they just keep telling us they'll come in to fix it later.

haha. i agree with some of that. Positives are that I luvvvv my view off the 3rd floor and its a nice private balcony. And I like the walk in closet and roomy shower/tub.
But those maintenance guys did also turn down my a/c and leave my apartment nice and frosty for me. And spilled white paint. and left little white paint chips all over my rug.
I hardly ever hear my neighbors. The dishwasher is old, I agree. And doesnt work super well. My balcony hand rail is fine, they just fixed it. The office staff is mostly nice so thats good. I think this place is good to live at, as long as they dont raise the rent now that they made it look all fancy :)

Thank god other people are making their voice heard over this. Nothing will bring back the "Good old Woodmeade", however if the residents stay on Lynd's case about improving the property physically as well as visually, perhaps not all will be lost.
A fresh coat of paint doesn't fix stairwells that are detaching from the buildings, poorly designed single lane parking access down a blind hill and the other numerous potentially fatal situations created by age and layout of the property.
Sadly, we put in our notice yesterday. I was surprised to find a ton of good apartments on the market in Austin, quite a change from when I first moved here years ago. If you don't like Lynd, vote with your feet, there are greener pastures to be found. :)
