I have been a 2 year resident of one of the duplex's at Woodwillow Townhomes, about to be three when I renew my lease tomorrow!
Since the first time I set eyes on the duplex I now live in, I loved it. I previously stayed in another complex upon moving to Austin, and could not have been more distressed at the dangerous state of the place, and surrounding area. Due to circumstances, I was allowed to break my lease and the then manager of Woodwillow Townhomes welcomed me in with open arms. Many positive experiences later, I have finally decided to fulfill my pact with Nathan and write a review.
I have enjoyed so many things about living here, most importantly being that in two years I have had NO safety issues WHATSOEVER, which I find incredible due to the experiences I had in only 4 months at my previous complex. I get to park my car in its own covered spot, I get up every morning with the knowledge that it will take less time for me to walk to St. Edward's, where I go to school, then those who park in the new on campus parking garage, and I love the people that live around me. It is quiet at night, I have a huge backyard, tons of space inside the house, everything is fixed in a day or so if something goes wrong. I skate to Ruta Maya and get coffee when I have to stay up studying, and being two minutes from 35 and 290/71 has drastically helped my commute. I literally could go on and on.
The new management is extremely helpful and efficient, I was scared to lose a good friend in the previous manager, but our new manager has gotten every single problem of mine figured out the day it occurs. The new management is always there when I need them, and if I have an issue with something going on they live here, too, so I know I ll always have a safe place to go and someone to talk to if I need it. I was offered the opportunity to move in with a friend recently, and my parents actually BEGGED me to stay here.
The only problem I think I ve ever had here is their lack of a hot tub (which was filled in to be a garden to save money), and some minor handiwork that I have yet to attend to. I get to have get togethers in my own backyard, I can play drums in my house without disturbing my neighbors (unless it s 3 a.m. ^ ^), and I never have to waste gas to get a good education. For me, I just couldn t ask for a better place to call home. I will be here my next two years of college, and I couldn t be happier. Feel free to e-mail me with questions, I love living here and I know you will too!
