I moved into these apartments because the rent was so cheap for such a nice apartment complex. I had my move in date scheduled months ahead of time and even called several times to confirm with the office staff. After scheduling to have my cable and internet hooked up, new furniture deliveries and taking the day off work, I thought I'd better call once more to make sure everything was set for my move in in three days. Guess what.... they didn't even have me scheduled to move in for another month!

Parking sucks because everyone in our complex had 4 cars each and would park them all in the front row of our complex. Most of them would sit, some of them didn't even run. I finally broke down and paid for a carport and a month later I came home and some dude told me I was parked in his spot. The idiots in the office assigned the same carport to two people.

People let their dogs run wild without being on a leash or even being supervised. The apartment across the hall from us was rented out to a bunch of illegals that liked to have parties and blare their tejano music. About 6 people lived in that one bedroom apartment at a time and the people would change every two weeks. One day while I was at home someone broke into their apartment and stole their TV. Neighbors leave fast food trash all over the complex and put their trash out way before pick up so that the stray cats can claw open the bag and get trash everywhere. Half of the work out equipment doesn't work. Most of the time the gate is broken from people running into it and it takes forever to get it fixed. There is also a huge pothole right in front of the gate that gets a quick fix almost every single month, just so that the next time it rains the hole can get huge again.

I found out that before we moved in, there was a shooting INSIDE of our apartment. After I looked closer, I could see where the patched the bullet holes in the walls and bathroom. I had several weird people knocking on my door and once even had a weird man approach me outside. I'm not sure what he wanted because I ran up the stairs.

Apartment staff sucks. The turn-over is ridiculous. Their jobs are short term and they know it, so they don't put any thought at all into their work. I have actually had the door locked and the closed sign turned right in my face as I was walking up the sidewalk. You will never get a call back from anyone in the office. They can't even rent out the clubhouse anymore becuase people would destroy it when they had parties there.

Someone drove into our mailboxes and the hole was there for months before being fixed.

I also found used condoms on the ground by the playground where kids play. Don't get me started on the kids throwing rocks at our cars and leaving their toys all over the parking lot.

This apartment complex is freaking ghetto. The respectable people are getting smart and moving out while the hoodrats are moving in. Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7

I have lived here at Stoneleigh on Cartwright for 4 years and I have never heard about any shootings on our property. The office staff has changed but the staff that is there now is great. They have always been helpful and quick to respond to my needs. I have a carport as well and I understand that occasionally someone might be inconsiderate enough to park in my space but that is not the office staff's fault and if it was accidentally leased twice then I would consider that a mistake but not a catastrophe. The office has sent out many flyers about pets and trash and they pick up the property very well. Now it would be up to us as residents to take pride in our home and make sure to put the trash in bags and keep our pets on leashes and pick up after them, but that being said I have never felt that it was trashy and I would not consider moving out because I know many of my neighbors and I take offense for all of us that this person says that it is ghetto. It sounds like this person may be racist and low class and should look at themselves more than pointing the finger at someone else. The staff is great and so are my neighbors. The property is well kept and I have enjoyed my home for many years maybe they should move and improve our environment.

Just because you didn't hear about the shooting, doesn't mean it didn't happen. The maintenance man is the one that told me about it. Our old apartment has the bullet holes in the walls to prove it. And as for your suggestion that I move..... I got smart and purchased a house back in February. I was simply posting my review of Stoneleigh to keep other people that are looking for a nice complex from wasting their time and money. If I was "low class" as accused, I would still be living at Stoneleigh.

I am the manager at Stoneleigh on Cartwright. I have been here for over a year now I am sorry that this person had a bad experience here. I do know that many of our residents have lived here for a long time and consider this their home and are proud to call it their home and that may be why the other person responded to the first email. Most of our office staff have been here almost a year and plan on being an integral part of the Cartwright family.

I never experienced any shootings or garbage all over the property...but for the 8 months that I was there I enjoyed my apartment for the most part. I did have issues here and there, but it was nothing that could not be delt with. I did bump head allot with one particulat person that was there at the time....Crystal D...she was really unprofessional. There is a hudge pot whole in front of the gate often, but you can see it clear as day and can also drive around it. The gate does stick open at times, but it is usually fixed 2 days later. I will say that I noticed a new staff once my lease was up, and after I moved I found them very professional and helpful. I did NOT see Crystal there, but I dont know if she still is. The break-ins started to occur around my last month there, but the staff released letters and kept posting so that everyone would know. They also had cops patrol the property during the day & some times late at night. Other then that I also felt comfortable. I did have an issue with neighbors having loud parties accross from me, but it was only on the weekends. Maintenance always came out if not the same day, then the next day to fix any issues. Oh and there where a few ladies who would let their dogs run loose, but they were never big dogs, and always seemed friendly. Overall its the same issues you would have any where.
