I have mixed reviews about living here, but then management has changed over so many times over the past 12 years that's bound to happen.
Quiet neighborhood. Fairly clean. Next to the park (great if you have kids)
Rent is fairly reasonable, and depending on the size you get, it comes with a washer/dryer, which is the reason we moved here in the first place. My rent has only gone up about $90' over 12 years which is quite remarkable.
Current management is about the same as what it was during the previous 11 years.
Only one reliable maintenance guy. They seem to have quite the turnover, but from what I've seen over the last 12 years, that is quite common. Because of this, getting work orders done that aren't an emergency can take some time to get completed.
Quality of occupants in the apt complex have gone a little south, but they don't seem to last long fortunately.
The buildings are old. I've had some extremely serious plumbing/water leaks (in walls, under foundation..you name it, I've had it) which has ruined thousands of dollars of personal items, and had to be moved to a different apt last year because the last one was flooding the entire apt.
Things do seem to be falling apart a bit though, like the wood fence on the patios, some of the fixtures (refrig, etc.) although they do replace them sometimes depending on the situation, but only after you complain about it big time.
Do occasionally get bug infestations from new tenants (god I hate those german cockroaches..) I do get notices about pest control, but I know they haven't come into my apt in years...wonder if the apt is getting billed for a service that isn't being performed'
Overall, it's not a bad place to live. Not sure how it compares to the other apt complexes in the area, but I'm fine with where I am, and know there are far worse out there.
Added:
Dumpsters are always full...which detracts from how the apartments look.
Still having water leak issues in apartment. And now am having mold issues, AGAIN...
Pest Control was scheduled to come last week...certainly didn't come knocking on MY door...wonder where they were'
It's taking weeks if not months to get requested work orders done.
I have had constant issues getting time sensitive work orders completed on ANY timely basis. I usually have to keep calling and calling and calling...and have on occasion had to send something via Certified Mail and start quoting the Renters laws.
Wonder if it's time to start looking into buying a house, or moving into a newer apt. complex. The mold issue is really bothering me..

Are you seriously saying that it is a safe place for kids? Come on. There are always cops there. I never let my five year old play outside when I lived there. I little girl was almost raped there, and nobody informed me of this. How could you stay there for twelve years? There are roaches everywhere, and rats too. And the maintenance is a joke. I think it is time to move man. I left two weeks ago to aparments right around the corner, and the rent is just a little more, and well worth it.
