Shoal Creek will never get out of the trench they dug themselves. They have gone about this business so wrong it not even funny. To start off.... The one trash compactor on the left side of Shoal Creek for ALL the residence to share, BUT the Right side of Shoal Creek each get their own dumpsters conviently placed on each corner. We need to put all our garbage on the front steps of the leasing office, and let them deal w/ it. In the summer the air conditioning links all over, a certain room in every apartment gets unbelievably HOT, the GYM is just gross, and the gates break and stay broken for months... The dog stations never have any baggies in them, so I am not surprised that there is dog poop everywhere! The creek that is suppose to be very pretty, smells like death. It makes me sick to walk by the leasing office where they have planted fancy flowers and accent plants all around the "example floorplans" that they take prospect tenants to have a look. Its hilarious because the plants make a dead stop at the end of the "show" apartments. I do feel some what sympathetic for the employees that have to answer to Colonial Prop. (meaning their hands are tied) if that is the case. Another thing I like the new maintenance guys, but it seems like they are always in the way! They don't even drive on the correct side of the road, and they come zipping around the corners nearly giving me a heart attack! They park in the middle of the road (basically) and don't budge if you need to get by, leaving you w/ the smallest amount of space to get by. So I am not staying for the renewal, to many headaches around here. Plus they would have raised my rates all over the place! STAY AWAY! NOT WORTH IT!! The company running the show is a joke!

Some people cannot make down to the office to speak face to face. That is why Alexander Grahm Bell invented a telephone. Also anytime that you go down to the office to talk to someone the sign that say they are out showing a property is up, yet there are no cars out front than the normal employees car.

I've also got the 1k sq ft floorplan and it's a bit of a stretch to call the bedroom huge. Same with closets. It's about the same as other apartments in the area, based on my experience. I came here for the service that was here when I moved it... but that went away with the new management company. There are ebbs and flows with the feeling of safety around here. It depends on the rabble that they let it, and then how long it takes for them to not really be able to afford it and leave. There are some skater punks from time to time. There are the low-rent people from nearby that get through the limited-access gates and ruin the common areas with their trashy ways. While that might be normal for apartments, it is not acceptable that this is advertised as a top-tier community and mgmt won't respond. They respond as if it's your responsibility, not theirs. Seriously. The asst-mgr has given me reason to believe that she either has not read nor understands the lease agreement... or that just is just too lazy to do her job. Maybe both. By the way Lola85, which one do you consider the witch? The mgr or the asst-mgr or both?

Yes, this is a nice complex and better than many others. It is also more expensive than many others as well as cheaper than some. All we are asking for is the service and amentities we are paying for!! This did not include the thousands of dollars spent to remodel the office while the rest of the property is not being taken care of!

No way! Do they actually have an asst-mgr at this s##t hole, I mean apt. complex? I always thought the mgr was very busy keeping herself cool and high and mighty at the new leasing office she never found the time to take a walk around the property to see for herself the decaying everywhere... As of today, 5/30/08 there's a 3 ft deep hole on the ground by the POOL where the hot tub used to be, it is not fenced in and plenty of children could be seen running around, god forbid no one will fall in there and get seriously hurt. The trash didn't get picked up for a long, long time, it was overflowing, spilling everywhere, smelling like trash does when it gets hot, 80 degrees! Not to worry, mgmt didn't take notice, therefore it didn't actually happen, after all this is make-believe land!

I agree the apartment inside is great if you make it that way and never step outside. I can also understand you do not know how great this place once was... the management cared and took care of issues! The flowers were planted and the grounds were maintained. We just want someone to care again... if not what's to stop this place from turning into any old apartment complex. We used to get flyers weekly talking about events the residents could attend, they dressed up for Holloween and gave out goodie bags, they sent out a monthly flyer about upcoming events and they had pest control. What do we have now...bad attitudes from the office any time you ask for anything and lots of excusses. I am embarassed to have anyone come over to see the way the place has deteriorated.

Last I checked, the Mansions were priced better than Shoal Creek.

Wow! A few months has made all the difference since the original review. ;) I've seen that there is still room for improvement around the property and am still hoping that the message might get through. Since then, it does seems like that even the one person in the office that everyone has been saying nice things about has also turned into a sourpuss (at least she won't have to change her initials: 'B'ad 'A'ttitude!).

At least when you leave, you will not have to close the gates behind you, because they are stuck open!! The turnover of residents has already begun, as seen by all the new people at the breakfast. And I will be following you right behind, when my lease is up! Of course, by then, management will probably change a couple more times!

Who is B.A. again?!?!?! Is that considered professional? Seriously I really don't know...

"From: balexander4 Date: 09/18/2008 I have the initials B.A. and I still have a wonderful attitude towards my residents and future residents! I can honestly say B(est) A(ttitude). I think I'll keep my initials. My attitude may have changed towards some because no matter what we do it's not enough and never will be enough! Unfortunately I don't have enough energy to be around constant negativity and bounce back with the positive and friendly attitude I try to maintain on a daily basis. In regards to the comments made about the original review it's obvious the SAME few people continue, and continue and, continue to post the same negative comments. We're truly sorry AdamPone! aka B.F. ;-) Sincerely, B.A. & staff" Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but having had this brought to my attention today, I felt compelled to create an account and reply. If "balexander4" is truly the person I know from the office staff, then I hope that my conversation with the Property Manager about this posting will resolve the issue, as I am led to believe that the staff does not share those observations towards me nor any other resident. If it is not the person from the office staff, I hope that the doppelganger is exposed and I would be happy to help in that process. But if this is all a mistake, I would be happy to remove this response. In the meantime, I will continue to focus on the project I've presented to the Cares Team in an effort to reach out to the Shoal Creek community of neighbors. While I am not prepared to make an actual "review" at this time, I can say that there appears to be some progress being made in some areas and I would like to hope it is a indicator of more to come.

In regards to the comments made in about the original review seems that the staff can do and say whatever they want to. Nice to know how the staff really thinks about the people that live here that pay their wage. Wow. Maybe someone should stop with the fake smiles when I bring them my rent every month as it's obviously not appreciated.
