Great property, but avoid it because of the ownership

This used to be a great property, still is nice, but because of Colonial Properties taking over, trying to save cost everywhere except their nice new offices, and corporate beauracracy, this is not the "luxury apartment complex it should be. If it were not for the residents raising hell, they would have shut down the pool during the main season to resurface it. The new trash compactor doesn't work properly most of the time, and unsafe to approach and trip over the wires. The residents are being charged $5.00 per month for garbage plus a $3.00 billing fee, to carry their garbage to a compactor that doesn't work. Oh, yes, they now have trash pickup, but only on Saturday and Tuesday, not the peak days for trash. So most people put their garbage in the old dumpster areas, which were supposed to create more parking but haven't.
Yes, many trees are overgrown, lawn is not taken care of properly, hot tubs have not worked for over 1 year, and new leases are forced to take cable tv whether they want it or not. Water bills keep increasing and so does my blood pressure.
So yes, it is a nice property, Brittney is great, but she is looking to leave when the time is right, and 4 managers in 2 years, all full of lies and lack of integrity.

There are lots of broken tree branches from past storms hanging everywhere god forbid, about to fall onto someone's head. The "hot tub" by the pool has now been emptied of all the water and you would think that the management would have the DECENCY to at least have it fenced?? off but hell no, spend money? No way! It's an ACCIDENT waiting to happen for someone to fall in there and get seriously hurt! As of today, 5/25/08 all that they had around it was a "caution" tape ridiculously wrapped around to some lawn chairs, but w/ the hot sun the tape got all curled up, so you can hardly see it! There were lots of kids running around it this afternoon, totally UNSAFE!

Added to that, only 1 side of the creek has had the dumpsters removed. The other side still has the convenience of not having to walk all that way (or put cruddy trash in their car) to get it to the dumpster. Since there are no designated spots for each building on trash pick-up day, people put trash on the curb... ANY curb... EVERY curb - nice.
Having been here since the previous (and good!) management company, this used to be a top-notch property where Brenda and Erin would take care of you and treat you with respect. The management style of Colonial Property is to get catty, snotty, bitchy, arrogant, know-it-all, cranky... everything but appreciative of the people that pay the rent that provides their payroll.
There is a lot of un-tapped potential that keeps this property from being what it used to be and what it could be again. If only the mgr and asst-mgr would either get an attitude adjustment or just leave (or get fired... as they deserve for the way they treat customers).

"4 managers in 2 years"? That might be a conservative estimate. lol! The one that was just booted from here for never being on the office got moved to anoher property nearby. I swear that old manager is back over here shooting the bull and wasting this staff's time more than she's at the new property that she's obviously neglecting the way she let this one fall apart when she was here for those few months. Hey! Stop dragging down the value of this property by coming back all the time. bwahaha! Seriously, since this place has REALLY fallen apart since the beginning of the year. Not sure about the current manager, but the previous 2 were so full of lies and deceit that you'd think they were running for elected office. lol! If the current one doesn't step up to the place VERY soon, she might have an uprising on her hands before she knows it. These reviews look like a lot of people are not happy.

Some good news: Colonial Properties sold 5 properties, 4 in the Metroplex which are older properties. My guess is they had to purchase them in order to make deals on some of the newer properties. Let's hope they are working toward having only the better apartments and taking care of them properly!! That means proper maintenance, proper trash disposal, and friendly and well run business staff.....are you listening Colonial???? YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE SPEAKING TO YOU.....PAY ATTENTION IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM!!!
