I am also very disappointed with Surrey Oaks Apartments. I was hoping when the complex was sold that the new owners (whoever they are) would try to improve things. This just has not been the case.
1.Overall construction appears to be quite poor. (I actually no very little about construction) Not only in my apartment but in several other people's apt homes that I have been in, the floors constantly creak when someone is upstairs walking. If there is any insulation it has to be pretty thin as I can hear people above me talk, hear their tv and hear them discipline their pet.
2.The appliances are old and 1 of four burners actually works completely.
3.The laundrey room is not only unsanitary but just plain gross. At one point there was actuall fecal material in the laundrey room in a pile on the floor and smeared up the wall behind the pile. (the smell told you what it was) After this incident, nothing was done by management to restrict access to this room or improve or implement any type of monitoring. On any given day you can find cigarette butts in a washer or on the floor and the entire room is just a mess.
4.There is a group of children that are preteen-or perhaps early teen agers that are extremely loud and run around doing as they please. Management has been advised of the situation and yet the problem persists. Residents are afraid to confront the kids directly for fear of retaliation in the form of key scratches on cars etc. These same kids make a mess with soda cans and wrappers and matches and crayons on bricks and outside walls. Management is aware of the situation but things have not changed.
