We've lived here a year. I really like the place, except for a few things.
1) Not enough parking. I've had to park 3 buildings away a few times.
2) In the 2 bdrms, the smaller room does not have good air circulation, so in the winter it's freezing & the summer it's hot.
3) 1st floor, beware of the people upstairs, especially if they have an obnoxious child running a muck @ all times of the day & night!
4) Workout equipment doesn't always work. Slow to repair it too.
Although for lower rent, great pool, & overall safety it's adequate.

Obviously you have no children. I do argree with you on the other issues. I too lived in these apartment back in 2003.
