These apartments are gorgeous but for the price of a one bedroom $800 it's not worth it. I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING MY NEIGHBOORS DO, EVERYTHING!!! I know whether she is showering, or bathing, when she vaccuums my canisters rattle. My next door neighboor smokes and I can smell smoke when the air comes on. While standing in my closet I can hear my neighboors (above me)entire conversation crisp clear!! Everyone I've spoken to has complaints about the poor quality of the buildings. DO NOT MOVE HERE, unless you want to hear everyone else and be heard also. Not to mention my apartment door was kicked in and NO ONE saw or heard anything in broad daylight!!! Plus they would not allow me to break my lease considering the fact that I was robbed of absolutely everything. After speaking with (Manager over the complex) she sympathized with me and agreed to allow me to leave with a 30 day notice but all rules still apply. I must pay a reletting fee, and pay rent until the apartment leases. She also gave me a discount on my concessions but I'm still out of all my belongings and $960 in reletting fees plus I paid May rent for an empty apartment. She is the nicest person I've spoken to since my date of move in Jan. 6th, 2008, all the others Are flat out RUDE!!! Plus my door frame was still broken 5 days after the break in. On the night of the break in I reported and emergency to maintenance and he was at the NEW managers apartment and hadn't replied to my call. I called at 7:35 and my mother found him at the managers apartment at 9:45!!! Buy a house instead!!! I was also told by the present office manager that "Victorian Quarters is not responsible for my security, I AM!!!" Who would want to remain a resident after they were completely robbed in broad daylight and NO ONE saw anything'!'

To break the lease is not as hard as you think, of course the manager of this complex is on a side of company interest 100% even if she has to do bad things to others and she is not as nice as you think. Try first to complain to the owner and see what he says. And if it does not work there is always a tenants rights. It includes something about noise. Anyway, as a tenant you have a right for a quiet living... .

I moved in 6 months ago, I too live on the second level, I realize that when I chose to move into a apartment COMMUNITY that I would hear other people. When I lived in my house no one was responsible for my well being and security but ME, why is this any different? Should I call the mortgage company if I am robbed? Life happens sometimes it is good sometimes it is bad. As far as breaking a lease... didn't you insure you household with renters insurance? Then you could of replaced your belongings! I am very happy here I also make sure that I look out for me to the best of my ability. I am sorry that happened to you but I am GLAD I CALL THIS PLACE MY HOME.

Anonymous (05/12/2008) Thank you for your advice. (Anonymous 5/15/2008)I have lived in several apartments to be exact six, and I have never heard any of my neighboors. Wow one person out of 15 other residents loves his/her apartment. I did not expect complete silence, but I also didn't expect to be able to pin point my neighbors every move. Regardless the issue is my apartment was broken into and I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. Sure I could replace those items but why take a chance, I'm a single woman and as you stated I am looking out for me that's why I choose to leave. If I had a home I would have a surveilance camera and the thieves would be caught. The hardest thing to deal with is the fact that I don't know who broke into my apartment, IT MAY HAVE BEEN YOU!!! So enjoy paying rent for something you'll never own, you're only making them richer. To eaches own, this is my life and I DO NOT WANT TO LIVE IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX WHERE MANAGEMENT HAS NO CONCERN FOR THEIR TENANTS!!! The tenants were not notified of the incident, and if this wasn't me I would want to know what's going on around me. If the shoe was on the other foot your response would be different, DO NOT judge others because you don't know how you would respond unless it has happened to YOU.
