We moved into these apartments about a month ago. Before we moved in there was no power so we didnt know the air condictionier unit didnt work. Well Its still not fixed. Yes they have gave us a window unit. But we are having to live in the livingroom. Its been over a month and nothing has been done. When we talked over the phone for the apartments (we were living in oklahoma) She had told us it was a 6months lease. She told my father it was a 6 months lease who lives here locally and came and seen and talked to the manager face to face. And when my husband was signing the lease it was a 6 MONTHS LEASE so she said ! As of today April 5th 2009 It is not a 6 months lease. Shes turning around saying its a 12 month. I myself have not signed the lease because i wanted to wait till we were sure the Central Heat and Air would be fixed. Now shes saying that if i dont sign the lease I have to leave but my husband can stay. We have a one year old. These condicitons arent good. Matter of fact about a week and half ago our cabinet in our kitchen fell of the wall.. Looked like mold on the wall my husband signed a paper saying it was 100% mold free! They came in sprayed something on the wall and put the cabinet up and left. These apartments are the worst apartments i think ive ever heard or lived around or in. So my advice and review not ever to live here.

I think it's time to call a lawyer. Go to findlaw.com, put in "Tenant Law" and "Bridge City Texas" for the location. Several attorneys will be listed. Look all the way to the right and it will have "Learn About the Law" and in the box it will have Tenant Rights. The manager has to get the AC fixed before it gets hot. That is TX law....if not, she is in default of the contract that was signed. Keep a journal with dates, time, conversations, and incidents....that way it becomes legal and binding. Also, get your free consulation with a lawyer...you might be able to get all your money back. Good luck.

Thank you. I actually talked to a lawyer today. Because a eviction notice was put on my door.So looks like well be leaving. I just hope some of the other familys in the apartment complex will stand up as well Because none of them have central air/heat either.
