I am a single female and I have lived at College Main Apartments since 2000. I have really enjoyed living here and plan to continue my stay during graduate school.

The community was built sometime in the 1970's, but the up-keep of the apartments has been good. I have had experience with older appliances, but when my refrigerator called it quits on me, I recieved a brand new one. Also, when I renewed my lease I received a brand new stove. Since the apartments are older, they are more spacious.

I currently live in a one-bedroom apartment and I have more than enough room for myself. I have been responsible for paying the electric and water & trash bills on top of my rent, but the utility bills have never exceeded $75.00. Additionally, I lived in a two-bedroom with a roommate and since we were poor college students, we never paid over $100 for utilities.

Whenever I have had any maintenance requests, the maintenance staff has promptly responded. Unless the problem was more extensive and new equipment needed to be purchased (i.e. a new Air Conditioner), it might take a few more days to fix the problem. The maintenance and office staff have always been friendly and receptive to me and my needs. I have never had a problem with the maintenance staff entering my apartment in my absence. They always leave a notice informing me that they were there and what work they did.

The neighborhood is composed mostly of college students. As far is safety is concerned, I use common sense and I have had no problem as a young female walking around at night or early in the morning. I also take necessary precautions with my vehicle to prevent a break-in. I always lock all the doors and arm the alarm system on my car. Plus, I keep my bike indoors so nobody walks off with it in my absence.

Recently, the office staff has informed me that the apartments will be renovated over the summer 2003 which will be a nice change. I can't wait to see the new and improved College Main Apartments!
