First off they sold my lease to someone else before I could move in, and then I was forced to take an upstairs unit which had just been recently vacated. At the time the manager promised to paint the countertops and the walls, and clean the carpets. She even wrote this into the new lease. I went back repeatedly to report that they still hadn't done this, and eventually gave up on ever getting this basic maintenance done. When I moved out I spent hours cleaning the apartment (even though it was filthy when I moved in), because I wanted my deposit back. Upon receiving my deposit I found that the management had taken out $55 because the appliances had not been cleaned. When I left the appliances were spotless. I know they were because I spent over 6 hours cleaning them. I called and argued with the management about this, but was told that the main manager had walked through my apartment and that there was nothing they could do about that fee. When I asked if I could talk to the main manager, I was told No. Country Place is poorly maintained, and has an uncaring management staff. It is located in a rundown and unsafe area of town. The only thing it does have going for it is that it is close to campus, but I feel that safty and comfort are more important then convenient access to campus.
