Nice, fairly inexpensive rent, but lots of noise and outragous fees (late fee, application fee, ect.)

I have mixed feelings about this apartment complex, here is the "Good":
They are very nice inside and out, the rent is one of the lowest in the area (but you have to fit into a certain income bracket to live here, and no more than one person per apartment can be a full time student, unless you are a married couple) The maintance is very good, they always respond promptly to requests.
The "Bad"
They charge TWO application fees for a married couple (and they are $40 EACH! $80 total fee for a couple applying) Other apartments have MUCH lower app. fees and let married couples apply on one application. They also have OUTRAGOUS late fees - $50 if you pay after the 2nd day of the month!! Then there are 2 VERY active train tracks across the street (literally) it took me a year to be able to sleep through all the racket they make over there (horns blowing, sound of the train on the tracks, then sometimes they just make LOUD banging noises for hours on end in the middle of the night for some mysterious reason)
My suggestions if you move here - Get a unit in the BACK of the complex to get as far from the train and road noise as possible. Also get an upstairs apartment, they are bigger and brighter (nice double window w/ alcove that the downstairs doesn't have) and you don't have to listen to people banging around above you. Oh and don't ever be late on the rent or they will really stick it to you!
