I am sorry to move but I have graduated and need to move for a job. I love this apartment because it feels more like a little town"home". I have a front yard and a back fenced patio.
The parking is wonderful. I never have to fight for a spot. Infact, I park in the same spot everytime and it is directly infront of my door. Plus, they give you a covered spot but I never use it because parking is too easy to find. I have never felt unsafe in these apartments. In fact I do most of my laundry at night so I am coming and going by myself. I also get off work pretty late sometimes and never felt scared.
I have never had a problem with maintance or any of the other staff. Anytime I had a problem it was fixed within 3 hours. When my dishwasher leaking water they replaced it immediately. I only had to wait a few days for the actual dishwasher to be shipped to the complex. The managers were always friendly and yes they are a little redneck but come on, it is College Station, land of the rednecks. They are very nice and always try to work with you.
Since almost everyone has a front yard, they let you plant what you want as long as it is tasteful and they maintain it. So if you like to garden it is wonderful. Sometimes I wonder about the guys who do the lawncare because they blow away the sticks and leaves then mow but that really isn't too bad because I go out there with a broom and sweep it off of my sidewalk and everything is fine.
My livingroom is huge and the bedroom can fit a king sized bed with a dresser and entertainment center. It has big windows and a good sized walk in closet. If that isn't enough storage for you, most units come with an attic which I used especially for my Christmas stuff (i.e. tree). The only problem with the attic is that it can be a bit hard to get into so I would suggest that it be a healthy person climbing up there and always have some handing you the boxes.
I have never had to fight for washing machines or driers and they were kept really nice. I never swam but the pool looked clean and had picnic tables.
Yes there are old people but I have never had one complain when I had parties. I just never let them get out of control. And I have seen other college students but have never been kept up by their noise so I assume they do the same with their parties.
Cons:
Their rain water drainage is sort of crappy. It doesn't get funneled off the roads so you have to wade through water to check your mail or your car gets really wet. It never has affected or come close to affecting the apartment because they are on higher ground.
The apartments are old. I think they were built in the 50s or 60s. So what do you expect with high electric bills' You just need to know how compensate. They came and fixed our cracks in between the door and the jam it was fine. The walls aren't thin so I never heard our neighbors once so you just need to make sure they put a good seal on the doors and windows. There are fans in the apartment we turn on it works fine with the ac or heating. You also need to make sure your kids, animals, or husbands don't lick or eat the paint. Since the apartments were built a while ago, they could have used lead based paint, but my cats and husband haven't had a problem. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
