Electric bills are insane!!!!!!!

For a 2 bedroom that won't cool below 83 degrees when its hot, and the a/c has been checked over and over and its working properly - I think $200 electric bills is insane. I live alone, barely do laundry or run the dishwasher, the water heater is set on 120 degrees instead of the more common 140 degrees. I am moving as soon as I can because if we have a cold winter this year my electric bill will be nearly $300. Last year it was $200 a month and the heater barely ran at all! I just noticed one of my neighbors roof over their front door hanging way down, this place is falling apart. My parents have a 2200 sq. ft house. Are home all day long, do tons of laundry and their electric bill was the same as my 1200 sq. ft apartment and I'm not home all day. Do not lease here unless you have lots of money for electric bills.

I would like to see this place deregulate so that we could choose our electric company instead of being told who we have to have. It just might cause co-serv to bring there rates down a little.

That's not the problem, several people I know have normal bills here. its those of us in broken down buildings that have the high usage. just check around your windows and doors - a/c escapes in summer and in the winter cold air comes pouring in. I'm not the only one with tape around the windows and doors. I can't imagine what it would be like without the tape.

It is too high, and it is not CoServ...I just moved out of these apts and moved to a 2800sq foot house and my electric bill for the first month in June is $153.00 and I am still with CoServ. I don't know what they do...In February my bill was like almost $500.00. These apartments also have single pane windows with no insulation in the window. They are cheap.
