I read all the reviews for this Complex and agree with everyone one of them. I know that people can be very opinionated but you have to admit that the opinions amongst everyone are the same. Unless you want to live in roaches (f.y.i. spraying doesn't help). Then stay away!!!! The building I lived in caught on fire in the walls of the building due to an electrical fire in 2006. My apartment suffered smoke damage and when I ask management what they were going to do about it they told me to just open the doors and let it air out. That had to be the most ridiculous answer I have ever heard. I contacted the City of Carrollton to find out why they had to visit that building that I lived in so much and why did it catch on fire. In short the answer I got is that the entire building in wired incorrectly and the apartment doesn't want to take the time to fix it. Its very evident because of the poor condition of the building. I have tried to use the electrical outlet in the bedroom and it shorts the bedroom light out.
FYI....the person who wrote the review about the high electric bill is telling the absolute truth. I'm figuring because the way the apartments are wired.
Oh and needless to say almost everyone has satellite (which they charge you a fee to have) because Time Warner has made mention that this apartment's cable outlets are outdated and wired wrong.
Lastly the management staff,,,,,horrible! I have dealt with Claudia, MiMi, Susan(which are not that bad) but that _____ (rhymes with witch and begins with a b)Kim. Kim is the ring leader the person with the heart of the entire group because she does all the dirty work.
Twice Kim has sent eviction notices to my apartment when had the rent right in front of her. Once she threatened to return it because I paid a different amount that what she thought the rent was(if she had paid attention to my lease she would have know what my rate was)after I had to fax back the lease to prove my rate amount she deposited the check with NO APOLOGY. The second time she stated that the water bill was not added (when it was) and she told me that I owed her (ready for this) $2.00 additional on the water bill and she could not accept my check without the full amount. They all answer the phone with an attitude like somebody owes them something. I look forward to the day that I read about somebody slapping the hell out of Kim for her attitude and had I not ended my lease with them it probably would have been me. So to end my story, looking for a rude management team that smoke cigarettes all day and don't care about that complex, looking to live in a roach motel, looking to pay $300.00 on your lights every month. The Carrollton Oaks is were you should be. But take my advice and STAY AWAY!
