Do Not Rent Here

The day I moved in I met with the Assistant Manager or Manager at the time (I think). The woman I had been talking with happened to not be in the office that day. She didn't explain anything about the lease to me and then proceeded to talk about how tired she was from being up all night. I got my keys - however she didn't know which set was for my apartment and she ended up giving me the wrong keys.

I walked into the apartment and almost died. The only thing that was done was the carpets were recently cleaned. It was not painted! The walls looked yellow! There were unpatched holes in the wall from the previous tenants. Funny, the Assistant Manager/Manager told me she just did a walk-through of the apartment yesterday and she thought it looked great.

I then had to, at my own expense, stay at a hotel for three nights until they finished painting.

Finally I got into the apartment and noticed it had not been cleaned!!! There was dried up food on the stove! I was beyond frustrated. As another review previously mentioned, I also had no pantry due to the fact that there was a water heater in that area. Storage is a nightmare - all you have is your "panty" and your walk-in closet. No additional storage.

The office staff is completely unprofessional. The secretary is rude and impolite. By December I had to request that they come clean the carpets again because stains were lifting up that I did not cause.

There is a bug problem at these apartments and the city recently asked them to deal with it. However, they said it was mandatory for them to come in and spray your apartment BUT they ended up slipping in a spray charge with your water bill. The water bill isn't legal either - you have to pay the apartment complex not the water company directly, so they can throw in any charges they so wish to.

Lastly, after moving out I noticed that ALL of my clothes that were in the closet had a terrible mold/mildew smell to them that I never noticed when living there.

Today I was schedule for a walk through to hand in my keys and what-not with the Assistant Manager, this appointment had been made for over a month, and she was not in. How unprofessional is that'

Oh and dare I mention the pool that goes from shades of green to yellow on a daily basis'

Do not rent from here regardless of the price. You get what you pay for.

well its apparant you didn't like your apt and you don't know the apartment rules very well either. I have lived there going on 5 years and I have never never had any problems with the staff, maint, my apt. nothing. as a matter of fact i was glad when the new owners which are the current owners took over back in 06. they have done some much to the property. anytime i need repairs maint is there. when i have a question about my rent the office staff is so friendly! as far as the water billing goes...duh....the water you are being billed for comes from the city of carrollton. ever thought one could be sick one day? the world doesn't revolve around you! I would recommend carrollton oaks to my family, my friends, my coworkers.

It's SOOO obvious when office staff posts on here, because they ALWAYS end it with "I would recommend Carrollton oaks to my family, my friends, my coworkers." Oh, god...get a grip. You're not fooling anyone. DUH. It's probably that little airhead, Claudia. Babe, you might want to check your grammar and spelling. They hire any idiot in that office apparently. Claudia and Susan are proof. Oh yeah, and if someone is SICK, it's the office's responsability to make sure someone is there to handle business that STILL needs to be taken care of. DUH!
