Nickel and Dime You at the end

I moved out and bought a house becsause I needed the extra space and thought the moveout process would be easy. Afterall the office staff was cordial and easy to talk to. I cleaned my apartment thoroughly from top to bottom.
When the staff did the walk through they came up with a list of items that needed to be addressed. I thought they were completely petty and on top of it all very expensive.
There was a crumb or two in the stove and they wanted to charge me $15 for it. There was a small amount of dust (and yes small as I only lived there for 7 months and spent most of my time outside the apartment) and they wanted $10 for that.
I did not have two mail keys to return at the time and an additional key was $15......are you kidding me' I went to Home Depot and made it for $1.46. Some return they get there.
Now, onto the biggest argument to date. Marbella Villas walks the apartment and give you this laundry list of items that you will be charged for if you don't address them. Well, when it comes to the carpet they tell you that it is ok but that doesn't mean anything because the carpet cleaning company did not go there yet. Huh' I don't have a contract with a carpet cleaning company, but I do have a lease with Marbella Villas. Well that doesn't seem to matter to them.
So here I sit and think that this carpet cleaning company comes in and spill some sort of liquid on the carpet and turns around and says that they had to do above normal wear and tear and now somehow I'm responsible for it. Make sense to you because it doesn't to me. Again, I don't have a contract or an agreement with this company but with Marbella Villas. If Marbella says its fine then that is to be the last of it and I shouldn't be liable for anything after that.
So, in my time there I had an enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the fitness center and the coffee. The apartment was nice. The pool left a lot to be desired. It turned green a number of times over the summer to the point that you could not swim in it because they had put so many chemicals in there to clean it.
My experience would have registered OK, but this stuff at the end when you are trying to move is ridiculous. Nickel and Diming you for everything under the sun.
My suggesstion is know what you are getting into by reading these posts. There are people that have posted on here about living there and I would agree with them, but they have not tried to move out and when they do there opinion might change.
