I don't usually surf the net, but, I came across this website and thought I would check out what people were saying about where I live. I am shocked to read this horrible review!

I, too, have kids that live here. When they are out, I am out with them. The question I have for you is...Do you not care enough about your children that you would let them ride in the street''' I know we have speed bumps but people still tear through here all the time.

I would also like to respond to your comment about gangs/dope smoking, etc. and how nobody seems to care. I am assuming by your comment that you didn't come to the crime watch meeting in September. Had you, you would realize how hard the everyone is working to get the "bad" element out of this place! If you have a problem, pick up the phone and call the Police. This is what we were told by the Carrollton policeman that held the meeting. Don't just stand by and let it happen. Most of the kids you see roaming around don't even live here. If you see something going on, then call 911! If you don't do anything then you become part of the problem, too! Get involved!! Several of us discussed creating a crime watch ourselves. The only way those "thugs" won't want to come here is if we stand up and say ENOUGH and take our property back. The worst we have had to deal with is these guys walking through and acting tough. If enough of us will call the police, they are not gonna want to be around here long!

Frankly, I think your letter is just simply sour grapes because your kid got busted riding in the street. Keep a better eye on him and you won't have to worry about that now will you'

For anyone else reading this, I have lived here for 2 years and even with all the mess of buying the dump behind us, it is a wonderful place to live and raise your kids. The place looks great with all of the work that has been done this summer. Much cleaner, and much quieter, too, now that most of the people have scattered from the other place.

Excuse me but I have lived in the dump behind you for fours years. I go outside and watch my children everyday. So don't even go there with me. I am one of the parents who DOES watch their children play. And I am the one that sees the kids walking around and see what they are doing. I also see the constable ignore the groups of kids walking around and see how he focuses on the kids doing healthy activities. My son never has been as you put it so lamely "busted" for anything. So do not talk about what you have not a clue about. I am out there everyday. I see it right in front of my face. I have called the police and they have told me they can't do anything about it. I have called on several occasions, many of which the police never even showed up. As far as the crime watch meeting goes, many people work who couldn't make it. Are you going to hold that against them. Open your eyes mam. Just because some people could not attend doesn't mean they don't care or are not a part of this community. After that meeting, when I did come home, my husband and I took the dogs for a walk and were waiting for a friend who was coming over for dinner. We decided to wait by the entrance to our group of apartments and who decides to pull up and question us? You're right, the lovely constable. He starts questioning us, asking who we are and if we live here. Yet right up the road was a group of teenagers just hanging out. Point made... As far as the staff go that work in the office, they have never been anything but nice and cordial to me. I appreciate that. I like living here, I like the community. I just don't like the way some children are treated. It is unfair and unjust. Like I said before, in any housing development, you will see kids riding their bikes and skating and PLAYING OUTSIDE. The police never have a problem with kids doing that there. I understand that the kids outside is a safety issue and that is why I WATCH MY CHILDREN. I know some parents do not watch their children and yes I see that and yes I see how that can be a problem. But DO NOT put those kids in the same category or treat them in the same manner that you would these thug teens who walk around and DO break the law. They don't deserve it. They are just being kids...
