The break-ins are increasing. The management rep said she will ask if a courtesy officer is "in the budget". These "upgrades" are sure in the budget. The poorly done construction, the new "wood" floors, the granite counter tops, the "accent wall" paint are all in the budget. Maybe this new management has it's priorities in the wrong place. If the place is pretty but unsafe, it will be vacant or filled with undesirables. What will cost more in the long run'
The only thing that management has done is force everyone to have $100,000 of renter's insurance. That alleviates management's insurance and security burden.
We will move at the end of our lease. Earlier if my home is broken into.

Agnes! :) I'm pretty sure I know who this is. I'm having an alarm installed Monday because I feel so unsafe now. To let everyone in on the situation, I came home and someone jacked with my door knob and there was grease all over it. I called the office and the lady (not the apartment manager) up front said she's sorry to hear it and offered no assistance. I asked if I could leave the lease early since I'm a single female and they stated I could if I paid two months rent plus a re letting fee - or put in a 60 day notice and the re letting fee (same thing but staying an extra 2 months). I definitely won't be staying.
