I moved into this complex in March of 2006. I was new to TX and wanted a nicer apt. complex to move into, one where I would feel safe, but also have a lot of the "bells and whistles" that I was looking for. When I first moved in, this complex was owned by Equity Residential. The managers were so nice and friendly and if you had a maintenance request it was prompty fixed (or even replaced) within 2 days. I LOVED living here then. Within the past 8 or 9 months a new company has bought the property and I absolutely HATE living here!!! Maintence suddenly takes up to 2 weeks to fix a problem, the managers are very unhelpful and act like they don't care about your problems, no matter how big they are. And don't even think about calling about noise levels. You'll have to call the Carrollton Police with complaints because the Apt. complex will do absolutely nothing. This complex is way too expensive to move in and have so many problems. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Wow. I couldn't agree with you more! My husband and I have lived here since January of 2007 and we have noticed a drastic change in the last few months. Since they got rid of the office manager that was here, it has been all down hill from there. She used to get things done and she was so nice and friendly about it. The new staff don't seem to care at all about anything. They say they will do something and then I really don't think they do. We have a new neighbor downstairs and for weeks she blasted loud music almost every weekend. When the previous manager was there and I first complained, I know she contacted the tenant because she told me she did and then what that resident had to say about our complaint. Since then, this neighbor who has no consideration for those around her, has still played her music loudly. I contacted the office about it two times after it happened (after the office manager from Equity left) and if anything, they just slapped her on the wrist. That is just one example. The main problem we have is with the courtesy officer never putting his dogs on a leash and never cleaning up their poop. Their one dog has tried to attack my leashed dog on 5 separate occasions - each time I wrote a written complaint as well as a phone call. Just this morning, there he is again, no leashes. I don't think they do anything about that situation strictly because he is the courtesy officer - I guess he can do whatever he wants. Your also right about the price to move into one of those remodeled apartments - it isn't worth any amount of money. It is the same apartment: still no insulation, the "hardwood floors" are actually laminate floors like look like hardwood, and the cabinetry may be new, but they didn't bother replacing anything other than the doors to the cabinets (the doors and the actual cabinets are two different colors and material) - yet they will charge $700 or more for that apartment. It truly isn't worth it. We are moving out of state in January when our lease is up. We can't wait to do it. Sad thing is, I really used to love this apartment ( wrote the "So Far, So Good" comment back in March 2007) - now I can't wait to go.

Oh yes! I forgot about the non-leashed dogs! Thanks for bringing that up! They sent out a memo a few months back stating that if they caught your dog(s) off the leash you would be fined $50. I was very excited about this because our 2 dogs are always leashed and there are ALWAYS dogs running around and our dogs go CRAZY and aren't able to do their business. Well, I still see dogs with no leashes on running around, I call the front office and nothing is done! I am so sick of nothing being done! About the upgrades, we got the laminate flooring, the 2 celing fans and new pewter hardware (door knobs and faucets). They look nice, but instead of paying $870 like we were we now pay $959 a month. It's too much $$$ to have to deal with all the other crap that's going on. Our lease is up in Feb. and we are out of here!!!!!!!
