I was warned by others there something bad would happen once Lincoln Properties was to sell this off to another management. I lived there for three years and always paid on time. I don't smoke, and have no pets. So I moved to Indiana to be with my wife. I get a bill for cleanup even though I had someone come in and clean the apartment. But I didn't even dispute that. They also charged me for new carpet! I couldn't believe it, there were no tears, no terrible stains, or nothing to suggest it needed replacing. However, I was still billed $561 for new carpet and cleaning, the most I ever have been charged in my 25 years in Texas. Even if I combine all my previous apartment move out bills together, it doesn't come this high. And when I asked for the damaged done, she said there was black hair all over the carpet. When I asked why it couldn't be cleaned, she said I'd have to talk to the manager, who wouldn't come to talk with me on the phone. So she just repeated what she said, because of black hair in the carpet. Ack!
It was clear that I was just getting scammed since I moved out of state. It was either pay up, or suffer bad credit scores. So I wrote it off as a lesson learned. The apartments themselves were nice when I was there. I did suffer a break-in on my truck, from some kids next door in the not so nice apartments. I should have moved out once Lincoln Properties sold these apartments, but I didn't. So just a word to have caution on your move out from there. Because that is when it will hurt most and hit hard!

What we can do not to suffer move out unnecessary charge? They are inspecting after move out. They are charging what ever they want. Actually the inspection should be done by resident and the employee of apartment together. I will move out. I am really worrying what can be done to protect our rights against unfair situation?
