Part 1 - Written January 2009
I just moved in to Westbridge, and so far my experience has been good with just a few exceptions.
I have bee dealing mostly with Dani in the leasing office; she is fantastic! Very enthusiastic, helpful, and always cheerful. She really went out of her way to may this move possible and to ensure that we got the floorplan we wanted.
The first day we moved into the apartment, I noticed immediately that the carpet had not been shampooed. There were still visible furniture marks on the floor from the provious tenant, as well as a stain on the living room floor - which was covered when our sofa was moved in! Aside from this I noticed that all of the carpet in contact with the baseboards was tinged black/dark grey - this makes me wary of the paper I had to sign releasing Wesbridge from liability for mold. Our bathtub faucet is not mounted properly either; you can wiggle it with your hands. The frame holding up the doors under our kitchen sink is also broken and tends to lean backwards. I am just shocked that all of these problems could exist after a thorough apartment make-ready was completed. We are paying a lot of money per month for this place, and I wanted it to be perfect when we moved in. It just seemed like work was done sloppily or not at all and a lot of corners were cut.
Aside from this, we selected a specific wall to be painted in our living room. The wall was painted - only partially. The painter stopped painting just before a door frame - leaving the rest of the wall white. It looked silly and sloppy. When I called to have the problem addressed, Alejandra said she would "write it down". Don't "write it down" - fix it! I had to wait another 24 hours to have it fixed when it should have been done right to begin with. When the painter showed up, he seemed to think the previous work was satisfactory and was trying to debate with me about painting the rest of the wall. I finally told him that this was one wall - just because part of it runs over a doorway does not mean it is not one wall. He finally painted it when I told him I didn't care if it cost extra. It took him literally 7 minutes to complete the job. Why couldn't this have been done right to begin with'
Parking is already a problem and that really upsetting to me because it was a main reason we left our previous complex. We purchased a covered spot - for an additional $25.00/month - but with 2 cars, one spot doesn't really help. Then there is the issue with the gate access code for visitors. We have called the office twice, only to have Alejandra give us bogus directions and then admit she didn't know.
Bottom line: It's not going to be as nice as what they show you when you tour. Alejandra doesn't seem to know what's going on or how to answer questions. Don't expect your apartment to be thoroughly cleaned and prepped before you move in.
***UPDATE*** June 2009
As of 6/11/09 Westbridge has decided to install extremely bright, white, glaring halogen lighting all throughout the complex. In particular, the halogen light on building 8 shines directly into my bedroom. After 5 calls between my fiancee and I and a visit to the office someone FINALLY told us that the lighting is "...manadatory by the City of Carrollton.." nevermind the fact the complex next to Westbridge, or any other complex in the immediate area, does NOT use this absurd lighting. We have contacted the City of Carrollton and spoken to a building inspector to see if Westbridge's claims are true. I have a feeling we are getting the run around. Do not least here is you like to sleep peacefully at night - you're bedroom will most likely look like a prison cell/cheap hotel - very, very bright and "blackout" cutains will not help.
We thought this place was different when we moved in in December 2008, but now it's just like every other inconsiderate, uncaring, apartment complex out there. The new office staff in particular leave much to be desired - they are obviously there for a paycheck and nothing more.
Lease elsewhere.

Why haven't you addressed these issues with the Manager? That is what she is there for. Alejandra is our new leasing agent, and in her defense, she is doing the best she can to adapt and help everyone with any issue she may have. Please call the office, you can't fix it, if you don't know there is a problem.

If you don't like my review - don't read it. It's a public forum and this was my experience. Period - end of statement. Even if the staff "didn't mean to do anything wrong" problems existed that should have never been present to begin with.

If it's so bad why haven't you moved out. You must be one of the fat tenants.

I think any issue is legitimate and should be addressed. It doesn't sound as though you are relaying your concerns honestly because I have watched the current staff address much bigger issues in an extremely professional manner and have gotten to know the maintenance staff who are also prompt and responsive to resident needs. Since I have lived here since the property opened I know a lot of residents who have also lived here a long time because of the staff and how well maintained the property is. I really enjoy the new management and understand that change will mean some growing pains as the new staff learn the property and change some processes.
