I have lived in the Austin area for 13 years now. I have lived as far north as Georgetown and as far south as Oak Hill. I would pick this location over any I have ever lived in. The amenities are fantastic. The community is very quiet and extremely social. The only problem I have had is with the crickets, but odly enough, they are all dead when I find them. Being on the first floor has it's ups and downs, so bugs will always be an issue. The good thing is that what ever process they use for extermination, obviously works since all the little pests are dead. The floors are beautiful. The ceiling fans are a definate selling point and the size of the beedrooms just makes living here that much more enjoyable. The staff is extremely friendly and eager to help in any way possible. I have never lived in such a nice, friendly and well placed apartment complex.

It is a perfect family community if you don't have a family. Most "family orientated" communities have play ground and things of that nature for the children to play on and not just a swimming pool with a bunch of drunks making out and fooling around inside each others swim suits. (We have had to leave the pool with our small children because of this issue one afternoon. Plus, dogs being walked without their leashes and the owners not picking up after the pets. My 3 years old daughter was attacked by an unleashed adult lab, but I was cussed at by the owner of the dog. I brought the issue up with the manager and was told that I should talk to the tenant because they typically don't get involved with issues between neighbors. Then what are they here for? To be rude when we have problems or issues with the apartment complex.
At first it seems like a nice place to live but too soon you realized what you have gotten yourself into.

Every community is going to have it's flaws. I am not saying this place is perfect, but for what I am paying, it is not THAT bad.
I have a 6 year old, so I understand the kid thing. I know that there is a REALLY nice park somewhere near by, called Wells Branch, but I have no clue where it is. My sister in law said that it has a princess tower and such. I'll have to find out where it is. Since you live in the area, do you have any recommendations for baby sitters?
I also have a dog, but I have a back yard and she is an INSIDE dog. She goes outside to do "business" and back in the house she goes. She'd rather lick your face off and "hug" you than bite. But then again, it's the personality that we have trained her to have. Some people just don't understand how intimidating dogs can be to children. I understand your concern there. And, sorry to admit this, but the complex is right, it is not their responsibilty to enforce the leash law. That is a civil issue and the police need to be involved. After so many complaints, the poor unruley animals are put down. That should scare an owner into doing the right thing.
