now i have to speak my mind here. when i first moved in -in march 2003 it was a lovely complex and clean- no trash and dog droppings everywhere. the office staff back then at least in my opinion was very nice- now i can't stand the new manager and now one of the girls in the office has coped an attitude with me because i asked something she couldn't/wouldn't answer. back in the summer of 2004 i started to pay my rent by credit card til april. the regular girl who did the books and rent was out on maternity leave part of that time and whoever was doing the paperwork and rent checks messed up my stuff so bad- from oct til feb i got a letter on my door saying i didn't pay rent- when i had filled out my cc paperwork they required and dropped it in the night bx. i would call they would take it out of my file and tell me to ignore it. well- in febof 2005 i paid as usualand got the notice and blew it off- never called- this had been going on since oct.- so i figured it was again the same ole ----.i went out of town from the 8th til the 15th and when i got home i had an EVICTION NOTICE on my door from the county constables office! i had regularly checked my voicemail- and i never even got a wheres the rent call-and theres paperwork all stuck in my door- so they must have figured i wasn't home...i was livid.
the manager started with-"well how do we know you put it in the night box'" what the f**k!i couldn't believe she was so rude- it just kept going- it was her tone- i get that they wouldn't know it was there if they couldn't find it- but change the tone of voice! do not talk down to me. and i had never in all the time i was there ever missed or was late with rent. you would think they could have called atleast.
it just got worse and they wouldn't take the eviction paperwork out of my folder or put a notation that there had been a mistake. she made it clear she was refusing to put any notation. so later when i move - hopefully soon- if someone who didn't ever know me or the situation got a call- they'd mistakenly say i was almosted evicted! hell i think she'd do it just to be difficult. I have several times left her messages to contact me- about the bug spraying or work people from the state coming in- just to let her know i couldn't get my apartment sprayed (medical issues)and that the guys coming to get our water heater info needed to knock hard- i would be home but might be asleep. she never called me even after she personally told me she would. i had tried to tell her associates they all told me i had to tell her- how the hell can i - and when is she even in the office' then today i went to talk about a new lease or me moving- the girl was ok til she started tos ay how if anything is wrong with the carpet- even though its original from the day built- i know it was will have to be replaced for a new tenant- i would still have to pay for any damage to it... huh' i said why' your pulling it up anyway- this went on for a few minutes and finally i challeged her and qouted the renters association about the life of carpet and my responsibility and she said-"this discussion is over-"
i realize she probably has no idea what she's doing maybe- shes new and they seemed to leave her all alone on a sat- and i was the 2nd out of 5 people in there waiting to talk to her. but she didn't need to be rude. i even said i wasn't trying to be difficult i just needed an answer. i am disappointed it has gotten so bad here- the staff seems underqualified and rude. i'm sure they are just following the managers lead on the attitude. and by the way-by law in the state of texas they do have to replace the carpet every 3 years. i liked the apartments but now i couldn't tell a friend to move her without atleast giving a good warning.
