What happened here'! This place used to be kind of cool, with nice neighbors and a general feeling of safety and all of a sudden it's just YUCK! Don't get suckered in by the low rent - you are ABSOLUTELY going to get less than what you pay for and trust me it's not worth it. We've been here two years now and there's no way on God's green earth I'm staying after seeing the hot mess that this property has become. Suddenly the rent drops and there are trashy, loud, RUDE people moving in. We've got one neighbor who seems to think that it's appropriate to leave their trash bags at the bottom of the stairs on days when there's no trash pick up. Lovely, especially when animals rip the bags open and then there's trash all over the front of our building. Last time it happened it took more than a day to get it cleaned up. One of our classy neighbors had a fight with their roommate and threw their belongings off the balcony, all over the lawn below. Entertaining, yes, but more like something you'd expect to see when leasing a home in a college town, NOT in a suburban area and certainly not in a place that the management tries to present as a place for professional, responsible adults to live. Another neighbor had a screaming fight with somebody last weekend with her window open. From two buildings over everyone could hear her screaming "GET THE F*** OUT OF MY ROOM!" over and over at the top of her lungs. I can't wait to see what's next. Here's the real kicker, though, and it's the part that scares me a little and really makes up my mind to move out at the end of our lease: in the past WEEK, the cops have been parked outside of our building twice. Until now I never even saw them around here but that's just freakin scary. Tonight I walked out to my car and there was a cop, shining his light right in my face, making sure I wasn't whatever trashy neighbor of mine he was looking for. I'm sorry, if I wanted to live with ghetto people I wouldn't have moved to Cedar Park. So those are my major complaints about living here. The rest of the issues are the typical apartment gripes: the management is completely unresponsive and the girls in the office are HORRIBLE. I don't know if Denise still works here but if you go in the office and she's working you might as well just leave because you're wasting her time and she's going to do everything in her power to make sure you know it. Sorry to make you actually have to, you know, DO YOUR JOB, hon. The same goes for the rest of the girls but to a much lesser degree. The gym is usually in pretty good working order and the pool guy works very hard in the summer (I just wish he would have had more of a set schedule; who closes their pool on a Sunday for cleaning') and I used to love the maintenance staff but I think they got some new guys and now they just tool around in their golf cart. People don't clean up after their dogs but I think that's a complaint for most places, although they do allow big dogs here, which is kind of cool if you like big dogs. It is sometimes hard to find a parking place but there isn't really a whole lot anyone can do about that. There are three "limited access" gates and it's a very safe bet that at any given moment at least one of them does not work. So...yeah, I didn't expect to end up writing a whole essay about why Silverado turned out to be a horrible choice for a home but here you go. Hopefully this will make a difference for somebody who is thinking about living here. It's just not worth it. We're so outta here ASAP!
