Complaints: no ventilation in the bathrooms, serious mold problems, extremely squeaky floors throughout the entire apartment (i feel bad for the people downstairs from us), tiny bathrooms, dirty pool, they have to tie the lawn chairs at the pool to the trees, but they spread them all out, so you can't sit next to anyone, people let their dogs swim in the pool, kitchen floor has an obvious slope, hot water barely lasts long enough for 2 people to take very rushed showers, the dishwasher leaves soap and food on the dishes (we just hand wash ours now), the garbage trucks at the shopping center next door make SO much noise at 5:30 AM, poor insulation, but we manage to usually keep our utilities bill between 100 and 120, there seem to have been a few domestic disturbances in the area, there are some scary people in the neighborhood and they leave shopping carts all over the place, we can totally hear our downstairs neighbors talking and coughing and their babies crying - it makes me worried about what they can hear us do or say, the whole apartment shakes when someone walks up the stairs or closes their door in our building

Good news: large kitchens, decent neighbors for the most part, the complex itself feels safe, close to shopping and restaurants, on a bus route, plenty of parking, new carpet (for us at least), the manager seems to be good at her job and isn't afraid to deal with annoying tenants, she seems to know me even though I've only talked to her a couple times, maintenance responds pretty quickly to requests, but they don't always fix the problem right away (we haven't had any emergencies to speak of), I haven't noticed a pest problem besides the occasional spider and they spray regularly, the price is good and it includes cable and water

I'm fine with this apartment for the short time that we'll be living here, but I'll be excited to live in a nicer place when my husband finishes school and has a real job.
