Secondly, realize that Doux Chene is in a college town. Yes, I too am a college student-but there are many students who still haven't joined the real world and still want to live at home with their mothers. This will skew their expectations quite a bit.

Now, my apartment. I have lived in a 3 bedroom for the past 2 years. My boyfriend has lived in a 2 bedroom/1 bath for the past 2 years. The apartments are older, but they are clean, safe, and comfortable. We moved from one of the newer "student" apartments in town, and I would much rather live here.

The management has been nothing but pleasant. The maintainence is quick and efficient. We have had a few problems with our apartment while living here, but the problems were corrected quickly. Our appliances are new, our carpet is new, everything is in pretty good shape. The ceiling fans are nice, and our electric bill averages around $100/month for a 3 BR apartment.

As far as the post below about rent increases EVERY 3 MONTHS, it just isn't possible. Your signed lease locks you in at your rate. Our rate this year went up slightly, but it went up LESS THAN OTHER APARTMENTS in the area.

I don't visit the laundry areas, as the 3 BR has a washer and dryer hook up. I use the fitness room regularly, and it works for me. Sometimes the treadmills are broken, but you can't prevent that.

For the price, Doux Chene is a very good deal for someone who wants a functional place to live. If you're a rich, snooty brat who expects the Ritz Carlton, it won't be for you. Good, honest, working people seem to enjoy it here. There are quite a few working families, and less "party-type" college students.
