The Aggie Code of Honor says we don?t lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. Let me explain how this website works and then you can make your own judgment about the credibility of the information it contains. Anyone can post a rating and comment on this site as an alleged resident or former resident of an apartment property with no accountability or responsibility for their remarks whether they are positive or negative, true or false. While this website purports to be well-intentioned, the use of it has degenerated into anything but useful. Scan any property in any city and you will recognize a great similarity among the posts. The negative posts are almost always vicious and vindictive with no sense of responsibility for libel and slander from the author because there is no accountability. From studying these posts, the vast majority of the positive ones appear to come from employees of the property or tenants who are encouraged to post positive comments because they have friendly relationships with the management of the property. Seriously, how many times does someone go out of their way to write a letter, much less seek out a website to say they were satisfied with a product or service' It just isn?t a common occurrence.

So who is most likely to post negative ratings' This website is a perfect forum for disgruntled ex-employees of these properties, problematic former or current residents who have caused property damages, violated property rules, or were evicted from the property. What a great way for someone with that mindset to think they can ?get even.? These types of tenants cause your rent to go up, just like shoplifters cause the prices of the products you buy to be higher and fraudulent insurance claims cause your insurance premiums to go up. We Aggies have a name for these individuals. They are 2 percenters!

To go a step further, this website could invite false posts by competitors. Certainly they have motivation to do so. Even further, the website is set up for the proprietors of it to gain monetarily from negative posts. How is that you say' Well anyone can post anonymously as a tenant or former tenant, but in order for a property to officially respond to a post, the manager or owner of the property must pay $280! That?s right. The site makes money by charging managers and owners of these properties to respond, so isn?t it in the website owner?s interest to generate negative ratings' I?m not claiming it does this, but there is certainly no motivation to curb libelous, slanderous or false statements on the site when there is a financial gain to be made.

Lastly, just for the record Ags, this site is based out of Austin and its proprietors are proud graduates of the school located there.

In summary, don?t base the decision on where you live on any information from this site, be it positive or negative. Many good properties are unjustifiably the targets of libel and slander. Be fair to yourself and the properties listed here. Do your own homework by getting out and shopping the properties where you think you want to live and make a truly informed decision, not one based on others sour grapes or questionable financial motivation.

Gig?em!

Respectfully Ag, I must disagree with a few things you said: "So who is most likely to post negative ratings' This website is a perfect forum for disgruntled ex-employees of these properties, problematic former or current residents who have caused property damages, violated property rules, or were evicted from the property." I am a current resident of an apartment that I strongly dislike, but I have NEVER been problematic, NEVER caused property damages, NEVER violated property rules, and I am obviously not a disgruntled ex-employee nor have I EVER been evicted from any property. you also said: "In summary, dont base the decision on where you live on any information from this site, be it positive or negative." I feel like the majority of people who post on sites like these are REAL people who just want to genuinely warn consumers about bad experiences that they have had, in a sincere effort to prevent someone else from having a bad experience. Certainly, people should not make their decision about where to live based ENTIRELY upon this website alone! They should tour the facilities, talk to friends, weigh the pros vs the cons. I think that goes without saying. thanks and gig 'em!

I did live in Sevilla for three years and in the three years there were about 6 new managers or new management. None of the new managers or management fixed anything or was are concerned about the people that live there. I had to deal with the a/c going out all the time, my stove did not work for six months and when the fridge when out I had to wait a couple of days and threw away about a hundred dollars worth of food, which they did not pay for. I moved and gave my notice and the manager told me that I had to be out by August the 14 and I was but they never returned my deposit or sent me a list of way they keep my money. This place is horroriable. It would be the worst decision you ever made to move in to this place. The only thing you can say that is good about the place is the TAMU bus picks you up right outside the door. I am not afraid to give you my name if you have any question please give me a call I will be happy to talk to you about this place. Debra Davis
